“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“The food was amazing and the service on the roof was great. I got the impression it was the owner who was running things upstairs. However, multiple groups walked in at 7:45 /8:00 and were greeted in the downstairs by an equally annoyed expression from the employees. I guess they close at 9and I'm assuming they were annoyed people showed up before closing (even though it was an hour before and I had a reservation.) when I checked online, they still offered reservations until 8:45. Everything else was amazing, but it was really off putting. Enough so that I would think twice about going back.“

The gyro was completely full of meat and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. This gyro was a real nuke it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pita was soft and fresh, and the tzatziki sauce was creamy and tangy, complementing the gyro perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is known as Chef Zuzu, he told me they recently opened up and seems like a great, honest, and hardworking business owner. “did you know salonica is open at 7 AM? i found out today, and im so happy to share it. when you get here early enough, there are window seats galore (and so we snagged one), from which you can watch all of the finance bros walk to the metra and professors going in the opposite direction, from the station to campus. kids and parents too, biking on the way to daycare.. it’s an endless flow of morning traffic. we each ordered a side of hasbrowns (only vegan option.. sorry y’all) and they were FANTASTIC. with all the works, seasoned into oblivion (there was literally every condiment you can imagine on the table). with some freshly squeezed OJ? you already know… something about being up so early and eating such a simple but happy meal reminds me of being a kid. i think i valued time more, but in a different way—not in the adult way, full of order and ideally to structure and optimize the day (and feeling anxious and awful if things don’t go to plan). more so with excitement and anticipation, wanting to do and see everything! even seconds felt longer, fuller. i was with a friend who was leaving, so with this in mind i tried to soak up all the time i could. i wish people never left, but there they were in front of me and far away, walking through the window frame without casting a second look. what a place for a goodbye, hm?“

“Found Tama Chicago on a restaurant guide. I'm glad we tried it, we enjoyed every dish we had. We had the empanadas which were freshly made, moist and delicious. We would eat those again all day. We had the mussels and that was really tasty as well. Love the saffron sauce it was cooked in. We would get those again. We also had the short rib and orzo and that was good. I would say the orzo was the star of the dish, it was really flavorful. The short rib itself didn't really have much flavor and didn't add much to the dish. We also had the burger and that was the superstar of the whole meal. Great quality meat, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. I would drive an hour for that burger. One of the best burgers in Chicago. We are definitely going back to Tama to try other dishes they had on the menu.“
