“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“My fiancé and I have been a gyro war. I’m a Skokie Dengeos girl and he’s a diehard Squabs fan. While it’s hard to compete with childhood memories after trying Squabs I totally get it. The gyro was perfectly cooked, the tzatziki was beautiful, the fries were delicious. The absolute standout was the customer service. I was having such a bad day. I confused the gyro plate with the gyro dinner and they took such good care of me. I had cried the whole ride over and left with the biggest smile and a plate of leftovers. 10/10 I will be coming back every chance I get.“

I mean I wish I had a gallon of it at home so I can put it on everything. I think they should start selling it or maybe give me the recipe ?? Either way I’d be happy 😊 The spanakopita spinach pie and also amazing. I miss their rice pudding. I don’t think they make it anymore but regardless Mr Zees is amazing !!!! “Absolutely outstanding! The food is extremely fresh and timing of the dishes during our visit was spot on. Our sever, Juan, took care to watch from afar and make sure our meal flowed. The busser was on his game as well! I don’t think my water ever fell below the halfway point. We enjoyed the Gyros ( a must try), prawns, mussels, potatoes, and saganaki. The portions were perfect. To be honest, we should have called it quits after the prawns but we couldn’t help our selves, it was just that good. Owner stopped by for a quick hello and welcome. “New to Chicago and on the hunt for good middle eastern food in my area. I had a bogo deal through Uber/Postmates and decided to try out the Chicken Shawarma platter for pickup/takeout. I received a generous portion of rice, chicken, a small salad, hummus, and one pita per plate.

Overall, this is a good option close to me that seems nice for takeout over dine-in. Service here was excellent and the environment was clean. The food wasn’t my favorite - mostly paying for rice, chicken was good but dry, seasoning was very light - but the portions were generous. I personally wouldn’t dine here again unless I had a good deal for the price point and quality.“
