“I go to this location quiet often, but I was extremely disappointed as well as angry with what I saw today at this location. (3/9/25 at 5:35pm) The 3 customers that were ahead of me placed their orders were first timers I found out. The young lady that was fixing their smoothies dropped a cup on the floor, picked the cup up from the floor then sat the cup to the side. As she finished one smoothie she pulled a fresh cup, then the 2nd smoothie she proceeded to pour it in the cup that she picked up off the floor. I told the young lady that took my order, so she then pulled the young to the side to tell her that I saw what she did then she looks at me and says "I'm Sorry" (I said to her): What do mean you are sorry, why would you do that, and why are you giving that to her, you need to remake that smoothie ...and guess what she did not. I'm just want to make people aware: Watch the people that prepare your sandwiches/smoothies or anything of that sort. It's not their stuff, they're not paying for it so they don't care. That was just the epitome of nasty and extremely unsanitary. She didn't have on a Tropical Cafe shirt, she had on a gray shirt, she may have been new, I'm not sure but we need to learn to do better when working with the public. Don't do things to people that you don't want done to you!!!!! FYI...the name on the ticket was: Shelia G“

“The place was nice and clean. I was greeted immediately. The young lady was knowledgeable about the menu and polite. She informed me and asked me if I would like certain things on my funnel cake before putting anything else outside what it's served with. The Funnel Cake was fresh along with the fruit. I will be back. I recommend this place.“

“I CAME OUT ON A SUNDAY EVENING TO PICK UP SINGAPORE NOODLE, CRAB RANGOON, PEPPER STEAK, COMBINATION FRIED RICE,AND BEEF BROCCOLI. “They no longer make elote like before. I saw that the girl simply used a glass as a spoon to grab the already cut corn. I think they buy it cheap. It doesn't taste sweet like in other Michoacanas and it is said to be called El Lugar, the original Michoacana and the truth is I didn't like it. The rest I ordered was good but the elote did disappoint me in this establishment.“

“Bani Beets is a very nice juice restaurant that I experienced for the first time last week. Customer service was awesome black owned and very chill positive environment. The juice was delicious and açaí bowl was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely visit again. God bless“

All of the seating was made exclusively from metal, which isn’t the most comfortable.“

“I’m so sorry i forget our servers name but she was so sweet and attentive and you could tell she really cares about the restaurant. We got the carnitas skillet and the chile rellano omelette and both were some of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the city. The carnitas were perfect and the omelette was fluffy and the sauce with the omelette was my FAV. when we left my partner said “this is our new breakfast spot” and I can’t wait to try lunch!“

“OMG! I have missed good take out since going vegan, and this place blew my mind! They had all the classic Chinese rake out dishes. Everything I got tasted exactly like what I remember prior to being vegan. I got sweet and sour chicken, vegan salt & pepper shrimp, wonton soup, and bean paste dessert rice balls. Everything was heavenly and wish I had stuff like this where I lived. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Chicago area again! Heck, I'd travel just for this food! I love that it's located in Chinatown too, which is a very cool area! The menu labeled what wasn't vegan/had egg & dairy.“

“Crazy busy so make sure to get in line online. We showed up when it told us to and waited about 5 mins to be seated. Food was amazing; some of the items are insanely sweet and sugary but that’s what a lot of people like I guess. Coffee drinks were great and service was fast and friendly. I had the chicken and biscuits which was essentially a chicken patty on a biscuit, but it was perfectly crispy and the gravy is really good.“

We tried their smoothies, bagel sandwich, and empanadas — and every single thing was amazing. Their smoothies are made with real fruit, super fresh, healthy, and refreshing 🍓🍌🥭

The empanadas completely stole the show though! I brought my friend who has lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years, and she said these are the BEST empanadas she’s ever had in Chicago! The crust is unbelievably thin, crispy, and crunchy at the same time, and the filling is packed with flavor 🤤

I also loved their bagel sandwich — perfectly toasted, crunchy, crispy, and so well made. And honestly… the prices are unbelievably reasonable for the quality you get.

They even have their own locally roasted coffee beans! ☕ We’re huge coffee drinkers and always on the lookout for freshly roasted beans, so of course we had to grab two bags to take home. We can’t wait to try them!

We’re all about supporting local small businesses ❤️ My friend said she never even knew this place existed in her own neighborhood, and now she’s planning to bring all her friends and family here!

“My wife and I were walking around Oak Park when we came across this place. We stopped at Starbucks and then we ran into pure green and decided to stop in. The way we were greeted by the owner was enough to make us want to throw out the Starbucks. Very respectful and welcoming atmosphere. I recommend the Mixed Berry Acai bowl and tropical breeze smoothie! The owner offered us the “wake me up” shot and blue-biotic shot. They’re definitely worth it.
