The owners and staff are always super nice and the food is fantastic. I recommend supporting this local Des Plaines business. It’s two doors down from the new Giuseppe‘s location for reference“

“Delicious and fresh Thai food that can’t be beat! The crab Rangoons are the best around, the Real Thai roll was so fresh and absolutely mouth watering delicious! I always get pad Thai and it’s truly one of the best I’ve had! And the Tiger Cries entree is phenomenal!“

“The four of us had a great time at this local gem. We had curry with rice, drunken noodles, and two orders of “chef’s gone crazy”—the chef cooked whatever he wanted for us and they were both pleasant surprises! Everything was delicious, and I have to say that their 3/5 spice level is a pretty solid 3/5. You could definitely taste the spiciness, but it wasn’t the main star of the show. If you like your food spicy, I’d say even go higher.“

I ordered the Red Curry Chicken for takeout and it was outstanding. The curry had a rich, creamy coconut base with just the right kick of heat, and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were fresh and still had a nice crunch, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers. Even after the drive home, the food stayed hot and flavorful. I’ll definitely be ordering this again! and most of it it’s Halal. Will def be back. Tysm!“

“A husband and wife duo cranking out delicious Thai food — we’ve been going here for years and absolutely love it. If there is ever a seasonal dessert, don’t skip it! The coconut cake is our favorite, but the keylime and pumpkin pie with sweet sticky rice are equally delicious. Highly recommend — come out and support a local business!“

One of the best Thai food places in the area with staff that is really friendly complete with a cozy dine in area with BYOB option for a fun night out with friends or family. My fiancé tried the pad thai with shrimp on one visit and the basil shrimp fried rice on another, and both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. “The first time I ever visited Ruk, the owner was incredibly nice and offered many recommendations on things to do, sights to see, & places to go as I’m not local to the area. We chatted for a while and I enjoyed the cashew pad Thai I ordered with peanut sauce. Going back year after year, Ruk is a staple for dinner the night I arrive in the city. Always nice to catch up and relax there.“

“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. Yes it's your standard generic fare but made so much better.Great food, great price. Appreciate these places, the owners care about making something good.“

“Over 20 years ago I started eating at their original Lincoln Park location. Today, their delicious food keeps me coming back time after time. It helps that the restaurant is staffed by the nicest people in the world. When I call for pickup they know my order (lad nar with chicken and Japanese gyoza) and they have it ready in ten minutes. Ten minutes!“
