“I really enjoyed the torta de asada and the tacos de tripita. What I liked most was that they weren't greasy at all. The o my reason I didn't give 5 starts was because I didnt like the salsa and the horchata and Jamaica. The agua fresca was actually coolaid.“

“Surprisingly for a hidden taco joint in a gas station, it’s great. I’ve had the tacos, burritos, and torta. The el pastor burrito is delicious! Their burrito tortilla is not like those thin stretchy flour tortillas, it’s great for burritos. The steak, lengua, and el pastor tacos are good too! The carnita taco is okay, not the best but it’s good. The torta is one of my go to’s. It can be a bit pricy but I think it’s worth it if you have the money to spend lol.“

“In my experience, it can be *incredibly* difficult to secure a reliable, professional, and high-quality food truck vendor to service private events that are also open to neighborhood patrons; therefore, when I reached out to Tacos Truck El Tío Rafa, my experience working with them was very refreshing and affirming! They were immediately accommodating and responsive, even when all they had was my word that my event would generate enough profit to make it worth their time and investment. The El Tío Rafa team ended up servicing almost 250 guests at my party for approx. five hours, and they were prepared with more than enough food to do so! On top of it all, the food was DELICIOUS! So much so that my uncle broke his no meat diet to try the steak tacos because of how good they are! Other guests have been calling me to remark on how much they enjoyed all of the food offerings from the truck as well. And the prices of each item are incredibly reasonable, especially for working/middle class patrons.

“I don't know if it's the lack of good Mexican food in Hawaii, but this place was fantastic! It definitely hit the spot. I wouldn't think that Chicago has good Mexican food, being pretty far from Mexico, but it really does. Shows what I know. We got a total of four burritos, three tacos, two chips and salsa, and pico de gallo, and four large horchata. I'm pretty sure there is something that I left out but all of that only cost me $70. That was a fantastic deal. We called the head to order most of these items and when I got there I couldn't help but ordered a few more things. There were also specials of the day. I wish I'd seen that before ordering more stuff but either way it was worth it. Hopefully I get a chance to come back before I have to go back to Hawaii.

“This place has amazing tacos de carnitas !!!! The meat was so tender and juicy. No fat on the tacos I had. It’s a 20 min drive from my house in Gary but man it’s worth the drive. I highly recommend. I had 2 tacos de carnitas 1 asada 1 apastor and 1 large agua de Jamaica. Total was $18“

Steak, Pastor, Cecina and chorizo tacos are delicious! Carnitas they sometimes have on Sunday are the bomb. Pozole is delicious. For the last couple of months I've tried all different kinds of tacos on the menu. but the one thing i just cant get enough are the Tacos de Cabeza. I just cant wrap my head around how the meat is so delicious, tasty, and tender and packed with so much flavor. Every-time I come here, I come for one simple reason... to give my taste buds the bet experience in the world and to have the most mouthwatering tacos of my life. “We ended up at this place by chance with 6 of us, ranging from teens to a grandma. All of us loved it. The tacos were really delicious. Grandma felt that the guacamole was too salty so the owner came out and apologized, made her a fresh batch to her liking AND removed it from the bill. Both food and service were top notch. Great tacos! The shells were nice with a buttery taste to them. The mear was tender and plenty ingredients in the tacos. The wait wasn't long for the food.

The owner was helpful with our order and telling us about the family business as well as what tacos might suit us. He has a jerk chicken taco but it's not foe the weak taste buds person. You're not going to run down the street like Richard Pryor on fire but you probably will run for a drink to cool your mouth down.

The fries were tasty. They put slices of cheese and melt it on the grill on top. I haven't had them that way since childhood.

The lemonades and teas are a must. A Variety of flavors for everyone.

“Dined in at around 6pm on a Friday and there was nobody eating at the establishment until after we arrived. Lots of street parking, place is clean, and staff was welcoming. They also have a patio which we didn’t choose to eat in because it was too hot out.
Our order was not that big and it did take a good while to come out but they give you chips and a little salsa flight to eat while you wait. I enjoyed all three salsas.
Aguas frescas—both the horchata and the jamaica one— were delicious and refreshing.
Food had good presentation although I wish they gave cucumber slices instead of radishes to make it the true Tijuana taco experience.
Guac on the tacos was skimpy and a little salty but overall enjoyed and will be back!
