“Nice little neighborhood place. The hours are odd so you have to check if they are open. I think they close mon-wed. I found this place looking for queso birria tacos. For $15 you get 4 decent sized tacos with the consommé. Great meaty tacos, I'm a big guy and I usually could knock out 8-10 tacos. I could only eat 6 here. The guacamole was big enough for me and my buddy. They have a juice bar inside and we ordered off of the server's recommendation. She recommended a pineapple drink and it was solid. We ended up getting a second order of drinks for the road. They don't have parking but you should be able to find something across the street. Place is clean and the cook wore gloves. I appreciate when a place is clean and people are wearing gloves. The waitress/server was very helpful and had great recommendations. She was easy to talk to since I don't speak Spanish. There was a bunch of online orders and takeout which in my opinion is good. That means there's no old food, they sell it all and buy fresh. Bathrooms were clean. I noticed the table next to me ordered a latte and seen they had an espresso machine. I haven't tried the coffee so I can't talk about the quality. Just that they have an espresso machine. I like this place a lot. Very friendly staff, great food and great amount of food for the price. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you.“

I haven't used the catering before but I'm sure these guys are good at it. The restaurant is a hidden gem and need to look for it a little. It's clean and didn't see any signs of insects, etc....The specialize in Mexican food but as I said they have multiple specialty dinners that are not Mexican. I had the pollo tacos and shared a platter of the nachos. Both were just okay - nothing to rave about. The restaurant itself is clean. Reminded us of a diner! The staff were also super kind and helpful, which is awesome. This hasn't replaced my go-to Mexican restaurant in the area, but I'd still visit again to try something else on the menu!“

“Regular price and size tacos al pastor are really good. On Monday and Tuesday tacos are supposed to be 1 dollar but if you don't ask they won't tell. Why would you advertise that in social media if you don't offer it to your customers and instead just give them regular tacos and when customer ask, you say that you need to ask for those ? ? If you opt for the special taco be aware that you would get 80% tortilla and 10% grease scraps.“
“The food here at least for the carnitas, are hands down the best, i live near the ORD airport and used to drive down all the way down to the southside for some good carnitas. Thank goodness, I no longer have to since finding this gem of a restaurant. Another indication that this place is great is because it always has customers, never empty. The owner, Aureliano López was a one man show, getting there in plenty of time to make a variety of delicious tacos, quesadillas and elote for 35 guests. The truck pulled all the way up the driveway into the back yard so everyone had easy access to grab their food from the brightly colored very festive truck! “This is another stand of El Becerrito (I see another reviewed on Yelp in Uptown). I think I've noticed them driving by before, but more recently this past Friday after the bitter cold two days, I was reminded that I should make a stop. I think the stand is here primarily Mon-Fri and they start in the mornings I believe, early enough for breakfast. Street was clear enough this morning that even if you were driving, it should be easy enough to park and pickup. Tacos are $2.50 each and come with onions and cilantro if you choose, and your choice of red or green salsa. A lime is thrown in on the side and you could eat there fresh or get it to go. They put it on a styrofoam plate for me to go with foil - next time I'll just have them foil it. Great option for a quick pickup on a street full of tacos (you can get cabeza at some of the other local taquerias).“

“This was my first time here since it was La Palapita years ago, and I'm so glad that I went. This is super close to work, and we decided to go check it out for lunch. We were all really happy that we did. It's a very cool place inside and out, and the colors and wall art inside are vivid and it has this great vibe about it. It was a beautiful day so we enjoyed their outside dining space as well. The food was amazing too! The menu is pretty extensive so it was hard to choose, but I went with the al pastor burrito. When I tell you I was happy I went with the regular and not the super I mean as big as the regular was I have no idea how anyone can put away the super. I had a hard time with that and I can eat, but I couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious! We got two orders of chops and salsa on the house with two different salsas, both good but the roja had some real kick to it. Two others had the sopes and said they were very good and piled high, and the others had a torta and nachos also huge portions. The guy at the counter was very friendly and was quick with the ordering and our food came out quick and hot. Another employee came outside and helped us put two tables together so we had extra room. I will go back here for sure. Fantastic food in the area and a great atmosphere too, so it's a no brainer.“

My boyfriend got the steak chilaquiles and they were phenomenal and I got the chicken and waffles which were crispy and flavorful.
