“We found this place on our way to Raleigh, NC from Chicago. Stopped here after reading reviews online. TRUST THE REVIEWS that say this place is good...IT IS GOOD! We just moved to the Chicago area from South Texas, so we know good Mexican food and this place does not disappoint! If you are anywhere near Gary Indiana, you have to stop in to Chela's. It's not fancy at all, but is very clean and the prices are good. We had the Birria Tacos, chips and salsa and several different meat tacos. Then, on our way back from North Carolina, we stopped in again! My fiance thinks this is the best Mexican food outside of Texas. THAT'S saying something! We can't wait to go back!“

“Went here to give it a go for the first time and it did not disappoint! Ordered the chicken burrito for myself and my boyfriend got the steak burrito. Both were delicious and flavorful, as well as PACKED as you can see from the photos- they’re big burritos! Fair pricing for the amount of food you get. We will be back to try other items on the menu for sure. The girl at the register who also took my orders was very nice as well !“

“I grew up eating at taquerias in every neighborhood between EC and Chicago so I'm always hesitant trying new places because they often let me down. I have to say that I'M SURPRISED MORE PEOPLE ARENT TALKING ABOUT THIS PLACE! To try them out for the first time I got 2 steak tacos and 1 al pastor. The pastor isn't your traditional pastor shaved off of a spit, but it was good! The steak is what really stood out though! Greasy, a little crispy on the edges, and packed with flavor. Its real steak as well, not the beef that other places use and try to pass off as steak. I have 2 other places I like getting tacos from and I've gotta say that this place has better steak tacos than both of them! The prices are also what you'd hope from a low key taqueria and they have daily specials Monday through Saturday! GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!“
