I especially appreciate the well cooked and spiced home-style take of their gorditas.While their portions are not as large as their competitor close by. I believe their dishes more then make up for that with flavor and an authenticity. “Came here with my girlfriend and mom, not really sure on what to expect. We walked in to a nice restaurant and a friendly staff. They explained anything that we needed help with and we're very patient. Food was very good, from the addictive cabbage, to the sushi roll, but where this place should go above and beyond is the ramen. Ramen tasted fresh and was very good. We got 2 chicken and one pork. Pork was a bit oily, but still very tasty. With this I got a pork and rice bowl which was to die for, it was excellent. “Fun tiki like atmosphere inside, but you don’t really get good views of the water from inside restaurant. I got the bbq bacon burger and it was great! The fries were a seasoned kind, they were good but not my fave. The mister got the all you eat fish fry. They bring out two fried cod pieces at a time. The beer battered fish was great and so was tartar sauce, especially the spicy one was fantastic! Only complaint is we waited awhile for another serving of fish - but when it came out it was hot and fresh! We asked for side of blue cheese and some hot sauce - be aware they charge you for 75 cent for every sauce without letting you know.“

“I have been going to Hayashi for years. Whenever, I have a craving for Japanese strip steaks, sushi, or Udon that is my go-to place. Excellent Food, Excellent Service, and Excellent Ambiance. I would highly recommend this Japanese steak house. They go out of their way to serve their customers. In my case, I love to have their kimchi and they bring it without even me mentioning about it. 5 Stars.

If you're a fan of sushi and Japanese style appetizers but looking for a Subway restaurant style of informal dining ...a quick bite to eat, without all the overhead in service and prices, then I suggest trying this place.My favorite is the deluxe salmon bowl with the black rice. The fish is very fresh and I like the crab and seaweed salad. This has a very savory without being overpowering a true umami kind of tasting food. No overkill on making it hot or spicy. The meals include complimentary self-serving of miso soup. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. In my opinion it's a great sushi bowl at Subway prices.“

“I've been going to Olando's for at least a decade now, and have yet to have a bad experience there. My most recent trip with my fiancee was no exception.The servers are friendly and helpful, the food is delivered quickly (even when they are busy), the portions are huge and the quality of the food is outstanding. While I've had their pizza before and really enjoyed it, I constantly find myself drawn to the "Bootie," an Italian beef sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese. It's got enough au jus in the sandwich to make it very flavorful (though next time I'll probably ask for some extra on the side, as I love sandwiches like this extra wet).My fiancee was impressed by the salad that came with her dinner, noting that it looked and tasted like it was made fresh to order. And she couldn't believe the serving size of her plate of lasagna. If there is a complaint - and I use that term very loosely - it's that there is so much good food served in the course of a meal that neither of us had room for dessert! “Best food and service EVER!!! We attended a wedding reception there. We had an amazing BIG soft pretzel and brussel spout flakes, they tasted like candy, yum. My husband had the BBQ ribs, BEST ribs and BBQ sauce EVER, I had the orange chicken again BEST orange chicken I've ever had. Our nephew had the Tim's challenge and he ate it all and got a cool tee shirt. Highly recommended. And did I mention the AWESOME customer service!!!“

“We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. “Decided to take a ride to Cracker Barrel for the Sunday special southern fried chicken. OMG there was so much food on my plate. I had hash brown casserole and turnip greens for sides. My friend had green beans and mashed potatoes. Way too much food for one meal, but really really delicious. The place was pretty crowded. But our server did a wonderful job. It definitely was a treat to go to Cracker Barrel for Sunday dinner.“

There are some vegetarian options and parking on site (just don't use the neighboring restaurant's lot for parking as they do tow). I love getting the teriyaki chicken. The grilled vegetables and fried rice is also always delicious. Everything is cooked in front of you-like any hibachi place-assuming you order something from that section. I love the miso soup that comes with the meal, as well. And it's cool that for birthdays they give out oranges with a candle. Definitely recommend reservations. It's a very popular place. There is also some seating in another section if you want the sushi bar.“

We like our 'spicy' rolls to be a little spicier, but otherwise excellent! Prices are reasonable for this type of cuisine in this area. Drink menu was very broad - something for everyone.
