“Went and had lunch here today! I had not been here since a child, we went every weekend for breakfast. The drinks were great and food was delicious! “We hosted an end of the season tackle football banquet for 50 people in the party room at JJ Twig’s in Wauconda tonight. Tiffany was a dream to work with — super responsive, accommodating, and had great insight into just how much food to order. The party room was the perfect private venue that allowed our rambunctious group of 10 year old boys some space to roam without disturbing other diners. Food was good — we ordered pizzas, baked mostaccioli, meatballs, chicken tenders and salad. Compared to other local venues we considered, JJ Twig’s is a real value. Along with the good food and great service, JJ Twig’s is the full package!“

We also really enjoyed the conversations with the bartenders — friendly, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. I mentioned that I appreciated the TVs being on the same channel, because when multiple screens are on different channels, the flickering lights can be overwhelming for me. I’m disabled and live with Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) and CPTSD, along with chronic migraines. The sunglasses I wear help reduce light sensitivity from LEDs and neon lighting, and the staff was kind, open, and understanding when I explained this. It meant a lot to be treated with respect and curiosity rather than judgment. The bartender was friendly, approachable, and handled the conversation with warmth and professionalism. “I took my boys here on a Saturday at around 4:30 after a trip to the Volo museum. We were immediately greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive waitress. The appetizer plate had the best onion rings and these creamy smoky bacon Gouda Mac n cheese bites that were to die for! Pan pizza came out as a deep dish and my teenager loved it. My oldest and I got the rib and broasted chicken combo…. OMG No regrets! The chicken was seasoned well with a delicious, crispy, light breading and the ribs were fall off the bone scrumptious with a perfect smoky/sweet bbq sauce. Do NOT skip the peach cobbler!! The warm, crispy peaches and streusel topping tasted like it was made with love. What a great place and we absolutely love our server. She was engaging and knew the menu. Will definitely return!“

“We have been there twice. My 6 year old had a blast both times. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The coffee is delicious. One part that stood out to me both times is how well the parents monitor their children. We’ve been to similar places and had a few issues bullying. I’m not sure if it’s the layout but here you’ll see the parents actively watching, and even engaging with their kids. Thank you for providing such a safe place for our kids to play.“

“I have been going to this place for the past number of years and every single time the steaks are cooked perfectly. I actually requested “medium rare plus“. Cooked, char grilled perfectly. Highly recommend the cowboy ribeye bone in. All food, including the sides and even desserts are outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. “Bowlful of Korea is such a cute little spot! The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, and has a really welcoming atmosphere. There’s also plenty of parking, which is always a plus since it’s conveniently located right next to a Jewel-Osco. Only downside is that there is two individual bathrooms which I could foresee being an issue if the place is packed.

The restaurant is self-serve and kiosk-style. You place your order at the kiosk, grab a number, and sit at any available table. They’ll bring your food directly to you, so the process is super easy and convenient. There’s also a designated area where you can grab water and utensils yourself.

One thing I thought was a really nice touch is that they have an additional private room on the side that’s available to rent for events. I could definitely see this being a great option for birthday parties, bridal showers, intimate gatherings, or other small celebrations.

We ordered three things: Chicken Katsu – $14 and two Assorted Sashimi Bowl – $21 each. Everything we tried was delicious and came in generous portions. I especially appreciated how fresh and balanced the bowls felt, with a great variety of vegetables alongside the protein. The meals felt filling without being overly heavy, and there was a nice variety of ingredients in every bowl.“

Service was timely, water glasses attentively refilled, as was the coffee too. $31 Note: it was one order of each item as we always split 🤯 We also got 2 bloody Marys and 2 mimosas, plus a Bailey's, kahlua and amaretto mix to add to our coffee as a nightcap from Old Bridge Tavern next door $48 Left with no leftovers and completely satisfied, happy and full.“
