“We hosted my daughter’s baby shower at Broken Earth and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The venue itself is charming, memorable, and in such a great location. From the very beginning, Karen was so responsive and accommodating, making the planning process easy and stress-free. On the day of the event, the service was excellent—Bella was truly outstanding and went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. The wine selection was also a highlight and loved by our guests. Overall, it was a wonderful celebration, and I would definitely hold another event at Broken Earth in the future.“

“We sort of fell upon Joanie's when we went to the Strawberry Festival in Long Grove and it was the star attraction for all of us!!! My husband and I had the most delicious salad that we completely devoured in record time along with that mouthwatering cheesy pizza that we ordered along with it!!! My Mom and Aunt ordered the chicken and Mom commented...."Now that's the way chicken is supposed to be made!!!" They were served a large tray with 4 LARGE pieces of chicken, potatoes, and long buns!!! They took half of it home and had it for dinner tonight!!! But the piece de resistance was the hot homemade strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream that seriously 4 of us shared!!!! Wow!!! What a treat!!! Oh... and....Our meals were served Hot....not cold....HOT...out of the oven.....again, the way a meal should be served! HOT!!! ha ha ha...The ambience was fun and the view of the water from our vantage point was just breathtaking!!! Our server Derrick was such a nice young man! He was professional, made certain that we were ok, and went back and forth many times for those extra things that we needed for our meal!!! I'm certain that it was very hectic for all of the servers during the fest, but they handled the crowds so well!!! Again, we were just thrilled to have stumbled on Joanie's!!! It's worth going back for seconds, thirds, fourths....etc....ha ha ha“

The baby dragon (half of a rotisserie chicken), dragon's egg (half of a baked potato), dragon's tail ( half an ear of corn) were all delicious and cooked to perfection. Adult beverages are pricey but they come in a cup that you keep and you'll get a discount on refills. Great horsemanship and falconer skills rounded out dinner and a show! “We had Brittany serving our table of 5. They went above and beyond for our bachlorette party. Small Details made a huge difference. Bride had a white napkin when the maids had black. Hearts on the table. Free glass of their Dole and dessert. And when we asked for recommendations on where to go after dinner, the whole service team put together a list for us. Brittany was our waitress and she was so kind and friendly. Excellent service from her. Had multiple other workers coming to congratulate the bride. Food was very very good. Appetizer was even plated for us at the table.“

“We were in Chicago for a visit from Texas and I decided I was really craving dumplings. I googled dumplings and Dangelas popped up. Reviews were amazing so we put it in the GPS and off we went. We arrived 30 minutes before closing but it didn’t matter. The best dumplings I’ve ever had. I wish I didn’t live so far away because I would be there at least once a week!“

“I hadn’t been here in a while but after our most recent experience I’ll be going more often. Went for our anniversary dinner. Booked reservations thru Open Table, arrived early and got seated right away in a cozy booth in the bar. There was a card and Anniversary placard waiting for us on the table. We were offered complimentary champagne to toast right away which was delicious. Our server Susan was outstanding and all the food was exceptional. We split a wine flight - loved them all! The pacing was terrific we didn’t have to wait long for anything but we never felt rushed. We went all out for the special occasion with soup, a starter, entrees, sides and desserts but would choose more affordable happy hour options to go more frequently. The menu changes four times a year (with the seasons) and all the calorie counts are kept low for the entrees which I love.“

“Simply AMAZING! Ochoa’s is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. We recently used them for catering (25 people), and everything exceeded our expectations. Communication was top-notch, portions were huge, and the food was incredible. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the juicy chicken and steak, the homemade chips and salsas, and guacamole that could honestly be eaten by the spoonful. Mr. Ochoa truly takes pride in his food — you can taste the love in every bite. Highly recommend for both dining in and catering!“

“This is my 2nd time here and I had a great experience twice, 1 for lunch and 1 for dinner. We tried their Chungkiwa BBQ special and it was very good with multiple meat options, all very good quality and flavorful. My favorite was the beef and the spicy pork.
The servers were super nice. AND we got ice cream after!

“We have been there twice. My 6 year old had a blast both times. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The coffee is delicious. One part that stood out to me both times is how well the parents monitor their children. We’ve been to similar places and had a few issues bullying. I’m not sure if it’s the layout but here you’ll see the parents actively watching, and even engaging with their kids. Thank you for providing such a safe place for our kids to play.“

Once you come in; you are greeted with a warm greeting and and enthusiastic smule by the host or owner. The servers are very accommodating , friendly and helpful. They check on their customers for whatever they need until your meal is done. The busboys are hardworking and any requests will be granted right away. The food/dishes are cooked just the way you requests. Their steaks and eggs are up to par. The prices are decently priced. For what they serve you, good amounts of food. Well worth it. Freshness and presentations of foods are stupendous! Never did I have any complaints the way the place is ran. Very clean. Wide open. Eventhough i live far. “Last place I know of that still makes everything from scratch. You can totally taste the difference. I have never eaten hash browns that are this “potato” fresh- not ever. And if you choose the “fresh fruit” option, it seems like they literally just sliced it up before they put it on your plate. I have never gotten fruit here that is dehydrated on the edges like you get at a lot of restaurants where you can tell it’s been sitting “cut up” for a long time waiting to be plopped on a plate. I know that’s considered normal prep work for most kitchens but i’m convinced this place must slice at the moment before they serve it because it’s still juicy you can just tell it’s just been cut.“

“Now one of my favorite restaurants! My friend and I came in for dinner, and everything was amazing! The atmosphere was so inviting and warm, the food was fresh and tasty, the complementary tea was super delicious, and the owner/chef/waitress was so kind and an absolute gem!

I had the beef bento box, and it was hot and fresh and extremely good. There is so much food you get in each of the bentos! My friend had the chicken katsu dinner and it was the best katsu we've ever had.
