“I was waiting for my cookies when I observed a worker who was rolling dough. She stepped away from the dough table, and went on her personal phone, then immediately went back to touching the dough. Wearing the same pair of gloves the entire time. I made a comment that she should probably switch gloves if she is going to touch her personal phone and then peoples food. Just wanted to be sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s gross.“

I ordered through Sweet C’s website for a birthday and I was behind on ordering due to my kids being sick. Celia was extremely kind despite it being a last minute order that was 100% my fault.

She had 2 dozen cupcakes for me and they were delicious. Everyone loved them - from the adults to the kids at the party. I always order extra cupcakes to bring home in case I can’t sit down at the party and enjoy a cupcake. I only have 2 left over and now have to share with the kids?! Not happy. Next time I’m giving myself a 6 cupcake buffer instead of 4.

Very easy to communicate with, is on time for pick up the cupcakes and you can still upload a design like she had in store. 10/10 recommend. We went with chocolate cupcakes and a vanilla buttercream. The cupcake will so soft and the buttercream was perfectly fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. Very well balanced cupcake.

The customer service and the cupcakes were both outstanding. Placing my cupcake order for my birthday today with a 1/2 dozen cookie kit for Halloween.

Dietary restrictions: Able to have some accommodations for dietary restrictions but like many bakeries, cross contamination can happen. She has an info section on this on her website.

“Tldr; help a local business (Sugar and Rhyme in Elgin) thrive so I can always have amazing croissants I have discovered an absolute gem in Elgin. I have been missing out big time. If you haven't been to Sugar and Rhyme yet, and you love croissants, please go. Also I've only tried one latte, but I like it. So report back with your findings on that matter. I went to visit family in Europe back in like 2008. This place makes the best croissant I've had since then. Like, hands down. It's easily of equal quality. I can't get over it. And they make everything in house. Fresh. Daily. INCLUDING!!!!! all the coffee mixins. The only sad thing is that the store is really small, so you're probably not going to be able to find a seat. “I recently ordered a cupcake decorating kit through their curbside pickup to send to my sisters and brother-in-law. I'm still very impressed with how responsive the owner, Norma, was to my emails and appreciate how thoughtful she was. She asked if I wanted to include a personal message to my sisters and brother-in-law, and I found out today that all of them really enjoyed the cupcakes. I can only imagine how hard it must be for small businesses like this one during these unprecedented times, but I'm glad that I was able to surprise my sisters and support them at the same time. I'm really looking forward to trying their baked goods in person one day!“
