“Great brews and great food!Stopped here after the botanical gardens. It is like a 6 minute drive from the gardens. And worth the trip for sure. The birria and mardi ramens were fantastic! Fried ramen was great too! Can't wait to go back!“
“Even though it was super busy bc of Valentines , service was spot on. Everybody was working so hard to accommodate every table. Food was delicious. We love the fact that it's family run. Everyone is so cordial and pleasant. We keep going back for more. We like sitting at the bar also, Jackie, the bartender is friendly and sweet And efficient. Give it a try!“
“I stopped in for lunch and had a carne asada Burrito. It had fresh ingredients and was good. This was my second visit to the place. The service was good. Order at the counter, take a seat and then your food is prepared and brought out to you.“
“Great service. Friendly staff. Lovely place. Great location. Plenty of parking. The chicken tacos were ok. The barbacoa burrito suiza was ok. We had been hoping for more zip in the flavors of the food. They also have delicious pan (Mexican bread) on request.“
“The weekend quesabirria is what got me hooked! If you're ordering for pickup, online doesn't give you the option so call. All the other tacos I've tried are also delicious. It's a small location, so be prepared not to dine in. When weather is good they have tables outside.“
“Amazing place. I suggest changing the name to the Michoacana Elite! I was amazed at how nice it looked compared to any other location I have visited. The food is fusion, and the samosa smash pizza was to die for. I highly recommend this place! Of course, the sweets are fantastic, “
“The food here is AMAZING! It’s an excellent place to try something new or familiar but with an elevated taste. Plus it’s Vegetarian friendly!Vegetarian options: Every burger on the menu is able to be substituted for either a mushroom burger OR an impossible burger. They’re both delicious.“
“First and foremost, the staff of any restaurant are the ones that truly keep an establishment running and thriving and are the heart and representation of the business. The hostess / order-taker and crew at Stacked and Folded, were super friendly to us and offered such great customer service! The atmosphere inside is very nice and offers an elevated casyal food experience.Even though the average taco is around $6.50, it is very large and offers a lot of the actual ingredients. This was the case with my short rib taco. The short rib taco did offer a little bit of that spicy hot but not too much which was good, and yes, was slightly sweet in the sauce as advertised. Overall, the flavor combination was very good and would rate it a 3.9 out of 5. It was just tender and juicy enough, but could even be a little bit more tender in the meat. I know it is not easy when it comes to short ribs and believe me they did a good job here! It is worth getting! We had also ordered the short rib sandwich, but I recommend to have the short rib in the taco form. It just taste even better with the corn tortillas! The sweet potato fries are a five out of five star! Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are cooked perfection, and have that right texture on the outside and perfect on the inside. Amazing. Now as a cook, my (James’) critique is focused on the shrimp taco. Like every other item, Katherine and I had, the shrimp taco is made in a very fresh and flavorful, non-greasy and healthy tasting manner. What observations and what can be worked on from the creators of the menu is the following:The shrimp in your shrimp tacos-at least when we visited—was just plain cooked shrimp and was actually dry. My advice based on the best shrimp tacos I have ever encountered or made are taking thawed raw shrimp, then marinate them of course, and grill them briefly and just right so that they come out juicy and tender and with that amazing flavor profile. That would make your shrimp tacos a five out of five.“
“Deeee-licious!!! The short rib empanadas were flaky and flavorful. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The owner stopped by the table to complete the experience. The menu was very interesting--definitely going back.Parking: Pay parking right in front but two-hour free parking on the neighborhood streets right around the corner.“
“The Trendy Taco made the best chicken burrito ever!! The price was incredible for the portion. I was the only person eating in the restaurant, but they had lots of to go orders being picked up. They had authentic music playing and gave me a bottle of their salsa while eating. The staff was incredibly friendly. Please keep in mind it is CASH ONLY.Parking: Free parking at village hall after 5 pm with no restrictions.“
“The tacos are amazing! If you're looking for a bit of traditional with a modern flare, this is the place to go. Personally, I love the Lamb, calamari, and mushroom tacos. Yes, I said mushroom taco. I'm not a vegetarian, but I also love the brussel sprout taco and the fried avocado. The guacamole is also one of the stars here. This place is a gem in downtown Northbrook. If you're looking for traditional head to the corner of Willow and Schermer.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian taco options that actually shine on the menu, not just an accommodationDietary restrictions: They easily modified my taco to remove mango because of an allergyParking: There's a free lot behind the building and some free parking right in front“
“This is a legit taqueria, something North Evanston has been in need of forever. I feel badly that I waited so long to try the food (from the name I assumed it was Americanized Mexican/fusion). Don't make the same mistake. The food is traditional and well made by very attentive and authentic owners. I can't speak to the burgers (haven't tried them), but the Burritos, tacos, and flautas are all solid, the salsa's are excellent, and the Mexican fries are crisp and tasty. Great service too.“
“Great food! The tacos hit the spot and they are super affordable. This is a great place to have lunch while shopping at Old orchard and the staff are very nice. I live in the city and had lunch in the west loop yesterday. The food was awful and it set me back $40. This place is far superior! So happy with my lunch!“
“Great food with classic and robust flavors. Versatility on menu and ordering was easy and without resistance. Lots of fresh ingredients; tastes authentic because it is. Owned by a local Gkenciew resident who loved his heritage and culture that wants to bless his neighbors and community with incredible Cuban food. They also have a food truck too for private parties. Great spot for dine-in, carry out or delivery (check who does their delivery service.). I love their shrimp tacos also their fish tacos. Classic torts was so balanced and authentic. My young son even devoured all his food and rice with beans. They also have amazing flan dessert along with Michicanana palettas and other desserts. Head over and see what all the buzz is about.“
“Jefe’s Tacos is Lake Forest’s go-to taco hotspot! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is prompt and friendly. There's a variety of protein options and a ton of tasty toppings and sauces. I like their grilled chicken and grilled mushroom tacos with all my favorite toppings. SO delicious! Jefe’s offers family and party box options as well. When you walk into Jefe’s, it’s like an escape! The authentic decor is a vibe. The traditional Spanish tile is gorgeous and the hand painted Día de Muertos artwork is incredible. The bold and bright colored chairs add to the vibrant, fun atmosphere. I highly recommend checking out this Mexican hotspot any day of the week … not just for Taco Tuesday!“
“Invicto is a taqueria serving Tijuana style meals full of flavor! Their vast menu has something for everyone, including beverages, tacos, burritos, vampiros, sides, kids menu, and paletas. Currently, they have locations in Naperville and Vernon Hills, and they also provide pop-up taco stand service for private events. It’s a great place to grab a quick meal or stay a while to enjoy the delicious food with a cocktail (or two)! I was also very impressed to see a sign on their menu stating that for every meal you purchase from Invicto, a child in a developing country receives a meal too! Here’s everything I tried at Invicto:- ? Elotes Taco - classic corn tortilla taco with creamy delicious corn- ? Hongos Sope - thicker tortilla base cooked with cheese and served with mushrooms and toppings- ? Elotes Vampiro - Tijuana-style tostada, this was surprisingly really good and I would highly recommend!- ? Rice & Beans - perfectly seasoned and cooked- ? Cali Burrito - great size and quantity for the price! Tastes really good with the salsas from their salsa bar- ? Papas Especiales - loaded fries with queso and other toppings, very addicting- ? Chips & Queso - you can never say no to queso and fresh tortilla chips- ? Tres Leches Shake - OMG, this was so good I could not put it down. The fact that it came with an actual churro just made the experience better!- ? Horchata - light and tastyIf you’re near Vernon Hills or Naperville, definitely check this place out!“
“I love the ambiance, our server Miguel was very friendly, attentive, and gave good food and wine suggestions! The food was excellent! We had the garlic mashed potatoes as an appetizer. The entrees were Chicken Tinga Tacos, and the Brisket Penne! Dessert was delicious, which was the Banana bread pudding! Great choice! We will be back!“
“Been a few times. Always so good and the service is excellent. They’re always very accomdating when we bring our baby daughter. We’ve recommended it to friends and family and they’re always impressed too! Glad to have this place in downtown HP.“
