“oh my goodness I found this pizza by chance at my local Meijer. Hands down best frozen pizza or any take and bake. The sausage was delightful and the Cheese was The Cheesiest ever it actually did the cheese stretch. Great Job it doesn't deserve the Bottom shelf“

“I am in absolute amazement. I had one of the most amazing dining experience at Ignotz. Our dinner plans changed last minute and we searched for an alternative. We knew it was going to be somewhat difficult to find an option in the city on a Saturday night. Well! Let me just say I called Ignotz and they accommodated us last minute. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday and oh boy! They make you feel like you are an old friend who they have know for years. All the staff and diners sing along and make it a celebration! I really cannot say enough about Joan and the hospitality was top notch! She and Roger checked in at our table a few times and both so warm and kind. In this day and age this kind of service and hospitality is hard to find..oh and the food! AMAZING! Let me tell you…HOLY CANNOLI! It was by far the best cannoli I have ever tasted. I cannot wait to come back!“

“I always loved beggers but last night pizza was nothing to like. it was thin and anemic. not the beggars I'm used to. It was like anybody else's pizza. the reason we love beggars is because they lay it on thick. This wasn't even close to being thick. Has something changed cause? Every time I visit Roots (which is fairly regularly over the past year) they provide exceptional service and great food. Since my review 1 year ago Roots has truly demonstrated the best in restaurant customer service and great food. Thanks Roots! Glad to have you as an option and I have updated my review to match the great place that you are.

So Roots Pizza impressed me with their amazing cheese sticks. Lately, I have been going there for their impressive build your own salad which is plentiful and they do not skimp on ingredients at what I think is a great price. Each time I have visited, I have had no problem with the host accommodating my seating requests or working with me to find a seat that works for me and the restaurant. Generally, the service is pleasant, courtesy and sometimes outgoing friendly--one young woman with a thick southern accent sticks out as super friendly and accommodating and there have been others.

Sadly, my experience with the host this evening was anything but professional--a young male with burnette hair and I think a moustache. I went in and requested a table for one--there were a number of free booths but he offered me a high top with metal chairs, the bar, or a small two top seated near other diners (I was on my phone and peferred not to disturb others). Often, I sit in the same area/booth when I visit, so I asked for the same--even though these booths were empty, the host insisted I sit at a small two seater sourounded by other diners instead of the less filled section of booths. The host said "no" this is what I have for you since you are just one person--the booths are for more people...I asked if he expected the larger booths to get filled (many times, I have been nearly the only one in my dining area or leaving when it starts to get more populated) he said "yes" with an annoyed, dismissive voice and refused to seat me in a booth as I requested. I sit down and try to recover from his disrespectul tone and "welcome" if you could call it that. As I look about the room, I notice a lone man sitting in a booth totally solo similar to what I requested (I wont mention race, but it could definitely be a factor). I ask the host how this man was seated alone in the type of booth I requesed and he responded in a very condescending disrepectful voice, "he is a mean grumpy old man who comes hear all the time and that no one likes and he complains and sits where he likes"--I responded, "so you have to protest to sit where you want?" This host then walked away with no response. He returned later and offered me the larger booth next to my table (after the people left and it was empty) which I moved to. So to wrap up--I am not one to hog a table for four if there is a table for one that works--each time I have been at Roots there is not a high demand for a larger booth where I am displacing larger parties and I am seated where requested. This time was the same--empty booths--although people came in after me, booths were seated and emptied so that it seemed all were accomodated. Roots has good food and a great neighborhood concept--it should rethink who represents hospitaility in the case of this particuar host.“

“Neat place. Was visiting from out of town and walked a few blocks from the hotel to check this place out. Had bruschetta which had good taste and was done perfectly. Also had a personal pan Chicago style pizza which I also enjoyed.

The service was a little slow after they got busy but overall wasn’t too bad. I’d go back if I were to travel to this area again.“

“Great pizza spot on state street. Love pizza by the slide and the usual no wait time. The staff is pleasant to work with. I love the decor inside even tho it’s very simple, there’s a lot of character. I didn’t see a public restroom, just as an fyi!

“These guys have been on my list for a while and it was worth the wait. THIS IS PIZZA. Bridgeport phils still has my heart but this place just bumped into the 2/3 spot for me. TOP 3 Chicago pizzeria.

Crust: this is what did it for me. The crust was a perfect thickness and kept its structure/ crisp throughout the whole pizza

Sauce: they’re cooking down their own sauce I believe. It’s got a touch of that fresh tomato sweetness. Nothing over powering, just a great classic sauce

Sausage/cheese: high quality Battaglia products. Traditional cheese blend and good sausage. Nothing crazy in this category but definitely brings their pizza together

Parking: It's always tough because there's alot of cars of residents and workers.

Kid-friendliness: There is a casino and there is just a door by the entrance that leads to the back in my own opinion if I had a kid they could get in“

“I purchased 4 thin crust meatball pizzas on Goldbelly to be shipped from Illinois all the way to AZ. The pizzas were boxed and packaged beautifully and arrived still frozen. Now to the pizzas, generously topped with huge half meatballs- not the crumbled crap so many restaurants pull and your disappointed thinking where is the beef, I am sure I ordered meatballs not this.The sauce perfection, the crust perfect and lots of cheese. Everything a pizza should be and you just can’t get in AZ. Thank you for a job well done. Be ordering again soon and Dominic I am so glad I called the restaurant when my box arrived and got to talk to you and tell you what a wonderful experience this was.“

“First time trying the calzone and it was pretty good. Alittle hard to cut with the plastic fork and knife given but tasted really good. The internal could have used alittle more heat but the outside was crispy so any longer in the oven might burn it. The pizza by the slice is always really good. Definitely give this spot a try“
