“Phenomenal food. LOVE literally all their house made sauces, I tend to order extra sides of their sauces just because they are so good on a variety of things. Their southwest salad with the habanero ranch is godly ... Expensive as heck if you add chicken, but like .. everything is expensive right now so no qualms there. Service. .. hit or miss. Ive dined in 3 times and twice I got a female bartender who ... As a 14 year industry vet, I can tell she's checked out and doesn't care. Would never stop me from keep going back though. Good vibes (everyone except the female bartender Ive ran into twice), great food, and a great place to watch the games. If you're in Avondale and haven't checked this place out, YOU'RE missing out!! Sincerely, one of the best kitchens (non-high-end) in the city!“

“Deserves more than 5 stars! WONDERFUL experience each time I come here. Everything made from scratch. Not just pierogi ---Gelato, soups, empanadas, tamales, pizza pie (takes 50 mins to make from scratch and worth it!!) Premium Belgium chocolates, shakes, Coffee and most recent.....160 (yes one hundred and sixty) different premium teas from around the world!!.....and more to come! They also own the tea room and book store next to the cafe. Owners are THE BEST! Welcoming, personable and humorous. Dinning outside available and pups are welcome! You can tell they have a passion for the business. HIGHLY recommend! ENJOY!“

“Food is all homemade ... chilliques are so good with red sauce To die for... The burgers are HUGe.... so delicious.... the fries are like no others and I personally never order fries. “Yesterday I took the Sourdough Breadmaking Class with Chef George at The Ancestral Oven and I just pulled an amazing loaf of bread out of my home oven 24 hours later! Chef George provided all the necessary instruction and supplies - including a lively starter - for students to start their own sourdough journey at home. The class included hands-on experience feeding the starter, as well as folding and shaping the dough. I had a great time at the class and can't wait to return to try out the breakfast and lunch menu at The Ancestral Oven Bakery and Cafe.“

“I judge breakfast spots by their staff and their oatmeal. Louie's wait staff are amazing. They're friendly, fast, and have never made a mistake on an order. Louie also has the BEST oatmeal in all of Chicago! I don't know what all the ingredients are, but it makes magic out of oatmeal!“

“A great new spot for brunch! My husband and I went and it was busy but we were able to sit right away. I'm gluten free and I LOVE that everything is labeled with an easy to read GF symbol so it helps me identify what I can and can't eat. The gluten free buttermilk pancakes were excellent. My husband had the corn beef skillet and he said his bloody mary was great as well! We'll definitely be back! Felisa was super friendly and made sure to answer my questions about gluten precautions.“

“Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with.
