“We are from WI and found Big Ed's because it was close to the hotel we stayed at. Unfortunately they we out of a few favorites but we found others and all 3 meals were outstanding. I had a full rack of ribs which were amazing and the wings were just as good. Service was great and super friendly...every employee was helpful and had smiles on their faces. Love the mom and pop local family business and already planning trips back to try the favorites they were out of as well as past the word on to everyone we know that loves BBQ. Well worth the hour drive!“
“First time in this restaurant! From tender ribs to smoky pulled pork and melt in your mouth brisket, every bite is a flavor explosion!! But it’s not just about the meat—the sides are equally outstanding. Jalapeños cheese corn bread out of this world!“
“Hidden Gem in Highland Park behind the Police Dept. on Old Deerfield Road.Family owned. Husband Wife team are always there. Wife greets you upon arrival. Has an outdoor patio.Very Creative menu and everything is delicious. Daily specials sell out fast.Recommend Tuesday Trio especially because it’s the only time the make BBQ Chicken. Thursday Orange Chicken is the best and unexpected. And the most unique of all the Corned Beef Brisket Yes Corned Beef Brisket. Really Everything is good. Fish is wow. Even have Grouper.Gotta try it. You’ll love it.“
“I didn’t get a chance to take a picture because I ate my food so fast ?. This was my first time trying their chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious. The employees were so friendly. The restaurant was so clean inside and out. I really enjoyed eating here!“
“Loved the experience from this place! The food was phenomenal & service was high quality. Ended up getting the beef bulgogi, crispy tofu, & crispy crunch roll! So flavorful and yummy, highly recommend if you're looking for a lowkey Korean BBQ place! Will be coming back for sure ?“
“Always phenomenal bbq and ambiance! The owners are fantastic and always appreciate their customers. Have tried everything on the menu several times and have yet to have something I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. If you get the chance definitely attend one of their beer/bourbon/bbq dinners..super fun and delicious experience!“
“We stopped and picked up some ribs, jerk chicken, burnt ends to go. I am a confessed BBQ snob and I was blown away at the execution of cooking and the flavor. I dislike BBQ places that so do season adequately, but they delivered on all accounts. They were also very patient as I was looking over the menu and ordering. Will definitely be back!“
“Man when I say this food is beyond amazing it is. The mango habanero sauce is amazing better than any you guys will ever taste. The wings Better that than bdubs and wings stop the only bad thing is they close at night when the munchies hit. 10/10 for sure“
“Excellent food and people. We are from TX and are big into BBQ. I was worried about even trying BBQ in the Chicago area since we're almost food snobs when it comes to this. Thanks to some of the previous reviews we gave it a shot and were in no way disappointed. The brisket is exceptional here, I won't say it beats all I've ever had but it is absolutely top 5 and a welcome surprise for this far north. The rib tips are excellent along with them. I can't speak for the sauces as we couldn't have them, but that should just speak more volumes for the meat, it does to me at least. The staff are also pretty awesome, give this place a shot they won't disappoint you in the slightest.“
“My partner and I have frequented several locations of Mission BBQ and the food and service are always great, but the Gurnee location's customer service is the best. They are always friendly and we never feel rushed when ordering. This is our favorite location to visit.“
“The chicken was tasty, however, it's a bit of a nuisance that the smallest amount of chicken you can buy is a 10 piece. EVERY fried chicken place in the world have 2+ chicken combos. No 1 person can eat 10 pieces of chicken in 1 setting, true, the chicken can be taken home, however, for out of towners (which they get a lot of) can not. They should serve combos like other spots, they'll make more money.Update: ok, so after driving from Chicago back to Michigan, I realized a few things. 1. The "wings" weren't wings, they were actually wing dings, and the thought of eating 10 wings just for myself was outrageous, however, I am kicking myself, because I could have totally eaten 10 of those wing dings. I got the chicken around 1145 am, got home close to 8pm, and those buggers were still crunchy, yes CRUNCHY. I popped them in the air fryer and they were DELICIOUS. Best wing dings I've ever eaten in my life! Get the 10 wing dings, you will eat every one. I got the Galbi spicy ?. Even the pickled radishes were fresh and delicious. 5 out of 5 for me, and I dont even like chicken like that.“
“I tried this restaurant because the other Korean restaurant on the same road has gone downhill quality wise. I have been going since. Their price is just $1 or $2 higher than the other one but the food is much better quality and larger portion. You can tell they are very proud of their food. They make their own kimchi. They check on you frequently to make sure you are happy with the food. Highly recommend this restaurant!“
“Absolutely love this place, came all the time when we lived here but last year moved up to Milwaukee. We happily make the commute here, the food is always amazing and the staff are so kind and genuine! You truly get the sense they all enjoy working here and providing great service. Love this place and will never stop recommending them to everyone I talk to“
“I loved it here. Food is my heaven, and this place was out of this world! Their BBQ sauces to die for! Everything here was amazing. Staff was efficient and very pleasant. A lot of parking space and enough seats to sit and relax for a while wasn't crowded for a Saturday night! I'm definitely coming back here to try more. No complaints here, delicious chefs kiss“
“My family and I love coming here! Kid friendly, super clean here and we are always greeted sweetly by the owners and staff and they are so accommodating! One of our go to restaurants. We are always craving their food since there are a lot of tasty options~Few of our top favs!Honey garlic and gangjeong have been the top flavors fried chicken for us, perfect amount of spice and flavor and the chicken is nice and crunchy on the outsideTheir boneless options are good too pleasantly juicy on the inside with a nice crispy texturerose ddeok-bokki- the rice cakes perfectly cooked not too chewy not too hardperfectt texture and the flavors are so delicious. If you don’t have a high spice tolerance this can be a good alternative for you instead of regular ddeok-bokkiKimchi fried rice- delicious can’t go wrong ordering this dish here!We like to order fries and pickled radish with our chicken and it’s byob as well so you can enjoy a nice cold beer all together best combo!! (chi-maek) ❤️“
“My favorite diner in Waukegan. In full honesty, I love the small hole-in-the-wall aesthetic. Some may find it cramped, but I think it's cozy. I love sitting at the bar, drinking the coffee, watching the cook do their thing. Menu is good. Staff is kind.“
“It was our first time here, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. The wait was not bad, even without reservations. The atmosphere was so relaxing and comfortable that it felt like home. The servers were friendly and very helpful. The food... oh my goodness... it was so delicious and delightful, you really have to try it. This place is nestled away in Northbrook, but is easy to get to. Trust me, try this place!“
“Having been here many years ago, and returning, found that their food has improved, but the service is minimal at best with the owner and one staff waiting on all the tables. After we sat down to a half empty room, it started to fill up and there were not enough staff, not even a bus boy to clear tables. We ordered the Dolsot be Bim bop and the Yuk Guy Jang, which I order visiting new Resturants to see if they are consistent with authentic Korean food. The Yuk Guy Jang was good but much different than I’ve ever had before.I will try to visit again since I love Korean food too see if they are consistent.Be fore you go, look ? ⬇️ and hit the thumbs ? up.“
“The food is always fresh. They’ll always get my order right. I’ve been coming here for 40 years! My adult kids live about 50 miles away but whenever they come to visit we ALWAYS get Ming Toy, nothing compares. My favorite is Chicken Hong Sue and the chicken is always perfect. My new son in law doesn’t have a Ming Toy favorite YET, so he tries a bunch of things, and EVERYTHING is great! Any friends who come back to Waukegan from out of town always stop for Ming Toy. It’s a treasure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Parking: Parking is on the corner of Lewis and Yorkhouse. It’s tricky if you aren’t used to it, you really need to be careful.“
“The food was really good but not excellent. The corn pudding lacked flavor. It was almost like damp cornbread mixed with corn kernels but no flavor. The pulled pork was good but almost cold when served. I'll definitely try it again because we went when they first opened, and it was a Monday.Kid-friendliness: Large open space as long as you don't let your kids run wild and they will have a good time.Wheelchair accessibility: It's all on one level , with easily accessible doors and parking.“
“Another great experience! Easy to order and pick up - everyone was happy with their food and left the table full. Leftovers and easy clean up made it perfect!!Dietary restrictions: Selections made it possible for everyone to find something they liked“
“The food is decent but with everything being al a cart the price really adds up fast.We paid $26 for 1 burger and a salad. No sauces fries etc .A bit much for my wallet.Parking: Just fineKid-friendliness: High chairs available. Very casual atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: The doors are very air tight so if you're coming alone in a wheel chair you may find access difficult.“
