“Came for a short quick bite. The food was good. The Cajun fries are my to go to. I ordered their little bacon cheese burger with Cajun fries and a drink. I did notice that the tables weren’t wiped down and they had a lot of crumbs but other than that I was good.“

“I’ve been going here for years for the wide variety of sausages they have. Today they had run out of the sausage I wanted to get so I went for a burger. Holy smokes the burger was totally fantastic. Now I don’t know what to get do I get a sausage next time or a burger. Either way I win.“

“Old school hot dog and sandwhich place. Taking a point off the dog for the missing poppy seed bun. Taking another point off because it is missing tomato (sign indicated this so I knew what I was getting). But adding a point cause the fries are legit. Is it my top dog ? No. But very tasty dog at a good value and a quality place by owners grinding out a living and for that, much respect.“

“When I'm in Chicago I always have to have an Italian beef. This time I wanted something that wasn't a big chain and I stumbled on Bob O's. Man this place was awesome. The Italian beef was tremendous as well as the meatball sub and char dog. Even the fries were great. The portions for the price were tremendous. Absolutely killer place!!!“

“Awesome food and friendly staff. More of a lax atmosphere with loads of Chicago memorabilia sprinkled on the walls.

The Chicago Hot Dog and fries I had were prepared fresh. Very juicy and flavorful dog, 10/10.

On another note, I came in at 2pm and the kitchen was very well staffed. (A rarity for restaurants nowadays)

“A basic, unassuming hotdog stand right next to the Field Museum. They have the regular Chicago dog (onions, mustard, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt, pickle spear). They also have vegetarian and turkey dogs as well as polish dogs. You can have the basic toppings mentioned above as well as chili, cheese, and sauerkraut. You can also purchase water or canned soda and chips. All combos (dog, chips, drink) appear to around 10-11 dollars (prices reflect a 3% cash discount). You can enjoy one after leaving one of the museums while checking out water views!“

For starters they messed up the order of two hotdogs with fries. Instead we received two overcooked polish sausage with greasy fries. I couldn’t consume more than two bites of either. It was obvious the grill and oil from deep fryer aren’t routinely cleaned. Failed on a grand scale!!!! Never going back to Jr’s.“

“Don't let the overall look of this place fool you It might seem like an out of place small almost empty restaurant right next to the sidewalk, But the food is delicious, Very friendly staff of 2 at the moment. It was my First time going I had a hot dog meal with fries and a drink Hot dog was delicious. Fries surprised me VERY delicious home made fries, food was good The price was great. “I once was a 12 year old at navy peir who’s order got lost, I harbored a grudge for YEARS, often telling people I had beef with the hotdog stand at navy peir when it came up.

I revisited this past weekend and truly had an excellent meal, service was prompt and well orchestrated. The food was Super tasty. The portions were generous. And best of all the price was great, especially for a tourist place. Thank you American Dogs and Burgers, and I’m sorry for any bad word of mouth.
