“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.“

“My God, this sangwich will make you feel that things might just be ok and forget for a moment what a dumpster fire of a time we live in. The lamination! Look at these luscious layers of pastry hugging eggs and some crispy plancha sausage! Look at them! Few things are perfect or capable of changing your life. “The pastries are very delicious! I have a variety of them. They are some of the best I have had in unexpected combinations. The latte I had was floral and balanced. It was a Lavender Latte. “the decor is awesome!! but my drink was a little disappointing. i ordered an iced latte with easy oat milk, add cherry & almond syrup. i didn’t taste any syrups at all, it just tasted like a regular latte with no modifications. for $8 i feel like i should’ve been able to taste the syrups but it was too late for me to go back to ask if they would remake it for me by the time i tried it.

EDIT: the owner made it right so i’m really appreciative! will be back! 💕“

“Deserves more than 5 stars! WONDERFUL experience each time I come here. Everything made from scratch. Not just pierogi ---Gelato, soups, empanadas, tamales, pizza pie (takes 50 mins to make from scratch and worth it!!) Premium Belgium chocolates, shakes, Coffee and most recent.....160 (yes one hundred and sixty) different premium teas from around the world!!.....and more to come! They also own the tea room and book store next to the cafe. Owners are THE BEST! Welcoming, personable and humorous. Dinning outside available and pups are welcome! You can tell they have a passion for the business. HIGHLY recommend! ENJOY!“

I only wish the sandwich was a little less messy but this was something I’d eat all the time and I think it’s a little underrated compared to other breakfast sandwiches in the city.“

“Can’t say enough great things about this place. The word that immediately leaps to mind when I think of it is…comfort. It’s a comfortable space with a very relaxing vibe. And old school coffee house vibe in many ways (and that’s a HUGE compliment in my book).“

They have many unique creations, which was exciting. Maybe Warhol 2.0 was my favorite but a bit heavy, so next time I’ll get Warhol (1.0). Eraserhead was also interesting. The barista was very kind and friendly with us. He seemed to be happy and passionate about his work, which I respect and appreciate.“

“It’s cute little coffee shop on a great spot on the corner. It has a small menu of the classic coffee options like latte and cortado, and they have 3 syrup options of lavender, vanilla, or mocha (nope, no caramel!). I forget how small the 8oz is it fits so cutely in my hand but it was a good amount of coffee for my walk home. A bit higher prices but it’s a small business supporting our community! Plenty of seating and space to study, work, or chill!“

“The largest of the BlackBerry Market installations and the one I gravitate towards the most; while both the Glen Ellyn and LaGrange locations are charming, the Oak Brook building is more impressive, with higher ceilings, a gorgeous amount of light due to the ample windows, and a great mix of different seating options. I’ve been to BlackBerry market to simply grab a quick bite after running errands in the area, but I’ve also come here with a larger group of friends for relaxed brunch. No matter the occasion, I’ve never been disappointed with the food! It hits every time— my special shoutout goes to the Italian Wedding Soup, as well as the Chicken Avocado Club! I always gravitate towards those dishes and they never let me down.“

“I can’t begin to explain what a godsend Ritual Coffeehouse was in my time of need! I was driving through Chicago on a road trip, desperately in need of a good coffee at 9 pm, at a time where every other shop is already closed down. Then, I see them on the maps, hoping for the best, and happy to say it far exceeded my expectations!! I had the most beautiful latte, made by the lovely barista (working late on a Tuesday night but still super pleasant, kind and welcoming), and on top of all that, the coffee served was ONYX coffee!

As a huge coffee fanatic, I was blown away that they carried one of the best coffee brands in the world (owned by world barista champion 3+ times). It was so comforting at this hour and being in a new city, but also the quality was impeccable! Thank you for being open and for the warm welcome to Chicago ☺️“

“Best coffee shop in IL, hands down. Pastries on point and rotate often. Espresso is always dialed in excellently. Been coming here since 2022 & never done me wrong, not once. Drew behind the bar has immaculate vibes among his other great baristas! Patio is a great spot too! Love the umbrellas!!!

Cocktails are bomb too, espresso martini & carajillo were awesome! HH from 3-6 has great beer choices!“
