“I've been wanting to go to this restaurant because I heard so much about it.So I had my son take me. The food was okay, very overpriced. they have a special from 3 to 6. The only way you find out is when you go in the bathroom and look at the wall, the advertisement. tacos are from $5-7 dollars. 😒“

“had a taste for tacos recently, you know why. beautiful sit down Mexican restaurant with take out, very nice decor, artistic furniture, colors, appointments, Frieda Kahlo!!
nice complete menu, all the favorites. walked in and ordered a bunch of tacos: pollo, chorizo, carnitas, tilapia, ground beef. order was ready in 5 minutes. tacos were a nice size with plenty of meat and fixings. the toppings varied with the fillings, a nice touch. came with hot and mild sauces, the red sauce (hot?) was delicious, tasted home made. there's a nice little outdoor al fresco patio with those little lights like 'romancing the stone'. gotta come back with a date!“

“The food was very good. We had the Asada Cemita and the Asada Machete. The salsas were good and one was very unique. As one reviewer mentioned, the inside is a bit confusing. You would swear you’re in a hot dog place, including the menus on the wall. There was a paper menu on counter for Machetes but I didn’t even see it when i walked in. Wasn’t an issue as we looked at menu online. Dont let the outside fool you either, the food was great and its super clean inside. Definitely a nice change from the typical tacos and burritos. Some very unique flavors.“

“We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our service was done by Kaylea. Although she was very busy, she was very pleasant and helpful specially when I had to return my steak because it was under cooked to my taste. She took the steak back to the kitchen no problem and came back with a little better cooked steak with a brand new potato and veggies! The shrimps cocktail was very nice. Overall good food and good service. Perhaps the prices are a little higher but eating out these days is more then it used to be. Perfect location, right in the downtown market where is the Rideau mall, shops and restaurants.“

“The food was delicious and authentic. The service was fast and friendly. It is a small place but cozy. They also have pulque which is a fermented drink the comes from the maguey plant . It comes in different flavors. Natural, pineapple coconut , and strawberry 🍓 I enjoyed my meal and family also love it. 😋“

“Went to Don Jose’s last night for the First of many times. The place looks great! Our server was very attentive and got everything on our order perfect. The cocktails we had were very well done and creative. We started with the Elote fritters which were delicious, sweet with a great crispy exterior paired with the Jalepeno cream was a great start to the meal. My wife got the short rib with a butternut squash and peanut mole which had an incredible depth of flavor. Very nice portion size. I got the Birria which was cooked for 12 hours. It came as 3 tacos with consume to dip the tacos in. Often we are underwhelmed with Birria dining out but this one was really good, great developed flavor and the consume was a little thicker and more flavorful than some other restaurants.
Overall a great experience and we highly recommend for an upscale Mexican dining experience.“

Menu options are legit and portion sizes are very generous. Everything I have had here is made to perfection especially their chicken soup and stuffed avocado and stuffed tomato. “Great place to eat at. The burrito ? is around 7$ i believe but it's large, it normally makes me take a break before I can finish it. They have great options for Mexican corn (Elote) so if spicy is your thing I highly recommend. Overall quick service and great food at a good price. 8/10

Parking: So parking is a bit difficult if you are dining in a there is only about 7 parking spots up front and another 3 on the side, making about 10 total. Tho I chose to go to the drive through, the inside is great to sit and eat at. They play sports on the TVs and play light Mexican style music which really completes the vide.

Wheelchair accessibility: So you'll need help with doors, but other than that they have tables you can park up to and they will help you if needed. I recommend tho as they will help with doors if needed (I don't use a wheelchair so please keep in mind things may change, but everyone is really nice so I would worry ?)“
