“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. Yes it's your standard generic fare but made so much better.Great food, great price. Appreciate these places, the owners care about making something good.“

“gushing about my take out order - I got the fried rice with yellow curry and fried spring rolls. everyone says it feels like someone’s parents making a home cooked meal for you, and it really does. the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. the man who gave me my order was very sweet and helpful, suggesting ways to combine sauces for best flavor and making sure I got everything I asked for. he also provided me with a huge slice of fresh watermelon, specifically to cool down the “thai heat” and it was delish.“

“My daughter and her kids enthusiastically recommended we all go here for Sunday lunch. The food was very good. There was a bit of an issue trying to get food my wife could eat given she has a few food sensitivities which seemed to preclude her eating here. But once we got it figured out, we had a tasty meal. The owner waited on us personally and was somewhat helpful with the limited options on the menu for my wife. He is a friendly guy who takes great pride in his restaurant. There isn't any atmosphere here. You go for the food and will not be disappointed.“

So many delicious options that I just keep coming back. They also have a modern, but warm atmosphere that is delightful. This place is clearly a hidden gem and a must try!“

“The best Thai food around. Any of their coconut curry is my favorite food I've ever had. Also their Pad See-Ew, that's a tie of my favorite food. I would beer bong the brown sauce straight and as for more. Unreal food and the service is always very kind when I can't pronounce the food. 10/10, I might move closer so I can get it more“

Every dish you can taste the love poured into it. They are accommodating to any dietary restrictions such as gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and so on.

“Best Thai food in the area. Puts all the Thai places in Chicago to shame! Great atmosphere, not long wait and professional service. The crab rangoons are the best ones I’ve ever had, good cream cheese to crab ratio, I also ordered the duck noodles which had a lot of meat that was cooked really good. Very tender and juicy and flavorful. I like when good meat can just shine in its taste without any spices clashing with it too much and those noodles really hit the mark in my opinion. My husband had the mild curry and it was very, very good, if you only order one thing, order the mild curry. It was sweet and a bit spicy. Unfortunately they don’t deliver to Chicago so if you have any recommendations for Thai restaurants in Chicago please let me know!“

“This cute little spot nestled in the heart of Norwood park steps from the train station is a hidden neighborhood gem. One of the best Thai food places in the area with staff that is really friendly complete with a cozy dine in area with BYOB option for a fun night out with friends or family. I am a long time native of the area and have seen restaurants come and go and I have to say I am so pleased that Nan and her family's restaurant is a mainstay . It is important to support local business and I am proud to give a shout out to one of my favorite places to eat in the area. The green curry is one of my favorite. They also have a great selection of rolls as well. Great lunch menu options and a staff that remembers your regular order and greets you with a smile every time.“

“I ordered the Pad Thai and it was absolutely incredible! The Pad Thai had the perfect balance of flavors—savory, slightly sweet, and just the right touch of tang. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and every bite was packed with freshness. Everything tasted homemade with so much care put into it.

“We came here because Katy’s was too full. For some reason, their customer base is all white people, not Asian. Mai Thai had plenty of tables free. I felt a little bad since they closed in half an hour. I don’t understand why Asian restaurants close so early in Illinois compared to other States. We ordered chicken satay, Thai bbq chicken, green curry with beef, Thai custard.

-chicken satay 5 - the chicken was very tender and juicy. It tastes great with the peanut sauce.
-Thai bbq chicken 5 - don’t sleep on this entree. The chicken was so flavorful and succulent, you don’t really need the Thai sweet and sour sauce. The sauce does give it a more tangy taste.
-green curry with beef 5 - it is spicy but the enjoyable kind of spicy. Not the kind of spicy that is just hot and you don’t want to take another bite. It has a nice milky texture from the coconut milk. You may need to ask for more rice.
-Thai custard - 4.5 - just the right amount of sweetness, not too heavy.“

“The first time I ever visited Ruk, the owner was incredibly nice and offered many recommendations on things to do, sights to see, & places to go as I’m not local to the area. We chatted for a while and I enjoyed the cashew pad Thai I ordered with peanut sauce. Going back year after year, Ruk is a staple for dinner the night I arrive in the city. Always nice to catch up and relax there.“

“This is my fav Chinese food spot around town. Their tofu is cooked well and everything always tastes great. Service is pretty quick too. I think most people order takeout but dining in is pretty chill too. Also, their prices are pretty reasonable. A lot of food that I usually end up taking home.“

“My family and I traveled to Chicago twice this year and dined at the Asian Cuisine Express both times. The owner, cooks and wait staff were all extremely friendly and made each of our visits a wonderful experience. We ordered Chinese and Japanese food and we also sampled some of their new delicious tacos... everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. We live 300 miles away so we ordered a lot of takeout to bring home with us to share with our friends who didn't get to make the trips. Asian Cuisine express will be a regular stop now for us every time we go to Chicago... we highly recommend everyone tries this restaurant and we can't wait until we visit there again. “This place reminds me of the old Chinatown before COVID and the reason I used to go to Chinatown. It's, affordable with good portions, it has that older Chinese restaurant feel to it, yet clean, and the service is good with a fast waitress who has a good memory and doesn't need a notepad. Service is fast and the food is fresh and hot served with tea. Free parking close by. Highly recommend you check it out and if you like your food a bit spicy, ask for it and it will make a huge difference.“
