“My family utilized Southland to cater my wedding rehearsal dinner. Due to Covid-19, no restaurants were accepting our party of 20 into any indoor or outdoor seated areas. ? But I am glad because Southland did NOT disappoint! The food was incredible! We ordered jerk chicken, lemon broiled chicken, and Italian sausage and peppers. We paired our meats with their rolls, glazed carrots, and roasted potatoes! Everything was seasoned well, juicy, and tasted incredible. We literally had no leftovers ??. “Wow is all I can say. You provided amazing box lunches for JMD Angels Foundation annual board retreat. One of our board members, Errika Williams, sponsored our lunch and made an excellent choice! “A group of us traveled from out of town to this establishment and we were excited about trying the food. We heard great things about the food, but we were thrown off by the person taking our orders. The gentleman was very snarky in his demeanor. There is another saying I would like to use, but for this review, I will refrain from that language. Although there was a group of us, the gentleman immediately interrupted one of my friends as she was about to place her order. In his sassiness, he made a comment to the fact of “I don’t need a bunch of phone numbers and one payment is acceptable.” We were confused by his statement! The gentleman was under the assumption that since we all came together, our order was one big order. One of our friends had to tell him, “just because we walked in together, don’t assume it’s one order!” My friend further explained that everyone would be placing their own separate order. The gentleman’s initial attitude had us all saying that we would not return. Another friend inquired about desserts and his response was something to the fact “we make enough money on the food!” Well, okay, sir!

Lastly, we all agreed the food was good! Customer service could’ve been better. In addition, if you’re charging me for cornbread, include it in my order. I should not have to check my order. Get it right the first time with all the attitude we received! Please get signage so that people know if they’re supporting the correct business!“

“Uncle Ronnie's was a blessing to my Sis and me. She loved his food His collards, mac & cheese; fish, chicken, sweet potatoes, etc, and the deserts-- so much more. His food brought comfort to my Sis during her last years of life. She was always happy when his food was catered to our home. She definitely had dancing legs while eating his delicious meals. Sis received her wings a few years back and I'm no longer in Illinois but the next time I visit, I will make sure I stop in to purchase some of the best soul food ever, from Uncle Ronnie's "Food For Your Soul" & Catering!“

“Let's Do Lunch is one of our favorite places to order. They have an extensive menu for catering and staff is willing to go the extra mile to customize whenever possible. Food is made fresh and always plentiful for the price. Prices are so reasonable for what you get. “I had a catered event on October 2nd. The food was excellent!! Especially the Italian beef and Mac and cheese. Went to drop off stuff snd decided to have lunch since we were there. The Reuben was to die for!! As was the beef sandwich. We also loved the fries. Thank you Jim for making the food for our 30th anniversary party . However, this new location is closer to my house and I would be a frequent customer if they would ever answer the phone. I called both numbers on this page. One is out of service the other never gets answered. I want to see this restaurant succeed. It is Black owned and I want to support it.
