“Decided to stop in for lunch, usually Pepe's is the go to, but wanted to try something new. Food was unbelievable and the margarita was probably one of the best I've ever had. We sat at the bar and the server was very attentive. Bill was about the same as what it would have been at Pepe's but the portions sizes were way bigger. Looking forward to going back.“

“It's very hard to find authentic Mexican food near me. However, the beef taco salad was good from here. The ground beef was season and not greasy. The prices are decent. I didn't care for the Verde or other sauces. I would love to have some good homemade tasting salsa or pico de Gallo. Next time, I'll try the chicken Taco salad.“

“it be hard to find reasonable GOOD tacos !!! & this place has it ! Reasonable deal for 2 tacos & they were good ! I had the chicken and steak ! they were on point ! “Fantastic! I tried the empanadas, quesadillas, tacos al pastor and quesabirria. Each dish was great and the plating was elegant. The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere was very nice. I actually think it can compete with anything in the city.“
“Well, I have been to several Mexican restaurants and it was the first time I had such a good quesadilla. I asked the cook and he told me that they make the dough. I recommend coming. If you want something, the most traditional thing I have seen is the tortilla, they make it instantly. Come, they won't leave. I'm sorry, try the quesadilla, what is what I ordered?“
“I stopped by to try out the pozole. I was prepared to be disappointed as I have been with most restaurant pozole. The bar is pretty high as I have a friend that makes it best homemade. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. The broth was not rushed which resulted in such rich flavors. Every spoonful was filled with meat and hominy as well thanks to the generous servings in the soup. The taste reflects the patience and love that it was made with. The price point was pretty amazing as well. I will undoubtedly come back for more.“
“This was my Second time visiting this restaurant, and I brought my guy in to try their food. Ms. Darcy waited on us, and she was warm, and inviting as we walked in. We didn’t even have to get up when our food was ready, Ms. Darcy brought it to us!! He had a catfish dinner, and he thoroughly enjoyed it! I had the chicken wing dinner and it was a hit as well!! We tried the jerk egg rolls as well once we got home and they were good…not spicy enough for my taste though. The atmosphere here was a bit “smoky” I’m sure from the grills but the smoke consumed the dining room atmosphere. Overall, we were pleased with the food and may come back to pick up take out!“
“Can't say enough about this wonderful place. The food is some of the best even against the great Mexican food in Chicago. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love that exists. However the service is terrible your guaranteed to wait 20mins just to get service and this is early in the day when it’s not busy and this has happen on more than one occasion I’m writing this review in hopes the service change I love supporting black owned businesses but we need to do better!“

“Visiting my son and he suggested this “place for tacos”. Well it was way beyond tacos. This is a jewel of a place literally hidden in south suburban Chicago. The chef is adventurous and he goes way beyond traditional Mexican fare. We had an amazing mussels in chipotle sauce, that you will want extra bread for dipping. My son had a massive salmon burrito. He said the salmon was cooked to perfection. The chefs special was a four cheese ravioli with crawfish and a delicious sauce. Again, not your typical Mexican dish but terrific.The place was sadly deserted on a Tuesday night. I hope people check it out as it deserves love.“
“Wonderful murals on walls, but when it’s dark the lights were that cafeteria bright lights and not warm/inviting. Server was super nice, but refills on salsa were slow. Very accommodating with slight adjustments to meals. Cost of a bottle of Corona Light over $6 - too high and no draft beers at all. Taco chips not my favorite and the guacamole was only so-so. Overall, good but there are so many Mexican options in the area to explore as well.“
“Definitely try the steak pastor and barbacoa. cooks put in the work and the food comes out delicious. Servers are very helpful and will answer any questions about the menu in a friendly way. My favorite plate the lucky fajitas with the shrimp steak and chicken comes out sizzling and very flavorful! Number 1 spot in my list!“

The kindness and quality of it all definitely has me wanting to come back.The steak torta was juicy and filling with the right touch of ingredients. The rice was really good along with the beans!The chicken torta was tender and juicy as well with such a fluff of bread to the touch.The Birria tacos were the juiciest and cheesiest I've had from anywhere along with their motor oil broth (just joking, I just call them all that as it was still super delicious as well)And for dessert, the cheesecake was so smooth to the taste while the churros were very crunchy and Delicious, and even came with 3 different dips to try with! “So mad I forgot to take pics because I was excited to see my friend and catch up. But the food was ok. The service was great. They were nice talkative and genuinely enjoyed the conversation with them. Again, I hate that I forgot pics because the decorations were so festive and authentic. It was colorful and vibrant. It was cold outside but the decor made you feel like you were on an island ? vacation. So cute ?? ?The food hmmmm...I had the 3 taco ? special/ a drink. I got shrimp tacos with cheese and sour cream. Very nice looking but too salty. I was like my goodness ? couldn't finish them because of this. But the French fries were good. “My husband and I have visited Soundgrowler at least once a month since we moved here a few years ago and have always had a great time! The beer is fantastic, food is delicious, and the staff is always great. I’m not a big metal music fan but they do such a great job creating a whole vibe that I enjoy it! Whenever we have friends and family visit from around the country we bring them to Soundgrowler and they always want to stop by again when they return to the area. Y’all are the best!“

“La Cocina Jaliscience is a great place to visit for a casual bite to eat. It's very informal but that's not a detractor. I always love their tacos and cheese quesadillas, and the burritos are very good as well. My wife tried the flautas this time and said they were good as well. My only comment is that I don't prefer their method for serving salsa with the delicious chips because it comes in what I can best describe as breakfast restaurant tabletop syrup pourers and I've always found it to be messy and also strange and invariably amongst whoever accompanies me to dine-in here the conversation always involves a laugh/bewilderment about the condiments being served in syrup jars.“

“We have been Camino Viejo many times. Best ground beef and shrimp tacos in Frankfort, hands down. We’ve had other dishes too. All really fresh, really good but I keep coming back for the tacos. “Man these Tacos and Tortas are the best. Every time I am in the South suburbs I come here to grab some. They are cash only so come with cash. The guy's been working here forever. “I usually don't leave any type of reviews unless I am personally moved by the establishments. But this little restaurant just personifies the current aged and melancholy sense of the American Dream. People work very hard in order to flourish here in the states. And often times are given the short end of the stick all while still pushing on and doing their very best with what they have.Long story short. We ordered online through a third party and the restaurant had no capability of retrieving the order because they no longer did business with them. They struggled to get anyone in contact who could help so they decided to do the honorable thing and took it upon themselves to cater to our personnel at my workplace to make sure we got what we had paid for even if that meant it came with a potential loss. The employees are kind, thoughtful, and evidently very hard working. Always bustling through, doing whatever they could to help the kitchen. The kitchen staff worked as the heart of this place to fly out orders as soon as possible. You can TELL these hardworking people have a passion in what they do. That it matters to them. I truly hope that they are able to get this issue resolved because otherwise they were a pleasure to do business with. The food was also very and I mean VERY delicious. “Ordered here because I was looking for the Birria experience, which I’ve never had before coming here. I placed my order online. I was given a time to pick it up. When I arrived it was a couple minutes early than the time suggested and my food was ready. I was happy with that. I normally check my food before leaving but due to this being my first experience I waited until I got home. Everything I ordered was there. The food was amazing I had the birria pizza, along with the birria ramen, and the Chimibirria which all exceeded my expectations. I will be going back and would recommend anyone to go there.
