“Stayed at Harrah’s Casino in Joliet & food at the grill was terrible. Found The Old Fashioned Pancake House Restaurant on Jefferson St in Joliet the next morning and it was amazing. Service was quick, attentive and continuous. Food (breakfast) was simply outstanding and price was very good! I have traveled a lot and this place is a Five Star value in my book.“

“They went above and beyond for our family. We had about 30 people who decided to go out to dinner after a wake. We called and 15 minutes later they had a huge table set up and did an awesome job of taking care of us. Very impressed with the service we received.“

“I had a bad experience my first time going after they opened but I gave it another try tonight and I was so impressed with the waitress, I asked her name she said Stephanie and she said she is fairly new, well hopefully you get alot more servers like her she was perfect and so extremely friendly, we will ask to be seated at her tables next time for sure! My first experience the waitress didn't even smile ,I had to ask numerous times for obvious items it was rediculous but definitely going back now also she wasn't just standing around like the last time I went 3 waitresses just chatting and actually had to ask for one of them to take our order after 15 minutes so tonight I give 5 stars last time I gave 1 star“

“I love this restaurant / sports bar! I've moved over 300 miles away but anytime I'm in town visiting family I make it a point to stop in. Their thin crust pizza is DELICIOUS, which is what keeps me coming back. I'm the past when I lived in the area, 20 years ago, I enjoyed many if their other entrees, which my family assured me that they are still great.“

“I've been there 2x this week for breakfast. First time I had the chicken fried steak and fruit. While not much on presentation (not an easy dish to " spiff up"), it was delicious. The service was a bit slow. Today I had the gypsy skillet and substituted for the fruit. Better presentation. Server remembered me and was was very attentive. I hope to go back for their new dinner. “I have to write a super positive review about a waitress here. This is my favorite place to have a wholesome, down to earth, old-fashioned breakfast or lunch. The food is so tasty and done well but the main reason I comeback is because of the waitress Suzanne! She is so personable and attentive. She lives in the area so you can converse with her about local issues and know she is feeling the pain about things going on in our town right now. She's gentle and funny and really knows her stuff. I depend on her recommendations often. She is a hidden treasure in Joliet and should be recognized for the exceptional job she brings to her job.“

The housemate ordered chicken and broccoli, and the reason we took away a single star, we found a bone in one of her chicken bits. Other than the bone she says it was okay.

The interior of the restaurant was pretty threadbare. Overall a fairly decent place with some good food.“

“We arrived here on a Sunday mid day when the place was not busy but within 30min there were so many families with unruly screaming kids we were wondering if this is a kindergarden party or a restaurant? We took a booth near the entrance and fortunately these big families were placed a bit further away, I felt so sorry for the poor old couple who had 3 screaming girls right near them - many old people are in poor health just like me and trust me, high pitched screaming are not helping when trying to eat ideally quietly. Apart from that, the food was great and had: amazing waffle chips, then steak while I had ribs for the first time in a long time - licking my fingers, of course. Staff was nice and friendly yet I sensed they are not allowed to tell these big families with screaming kids to quieten down, so I kind of feel sorry for the staff - management, think of a solution if you want to have mature people coming back here!!!“

“Was a wonderful place to watch the Bears game, place was jammed packed and even with the massive crowd Erin was an excellent server. He took great care of us and never left us waiting. Food was good and plenty of tvs to enjoy the game. Highly recommend this place for your favorite sporting event.“
