“First time me and my husband have been here. As we walked in our hands were shipped by the owner, which was a great welcome. The waffle was amazing. Presentation of the waffle was great. The eggs were cooked properly. Coffee was wonderful, including a craft at the table, lemon water was placed on the table as well. If I am in this area as I live two hours away I will certainly return. I recommend this place highly for a wonderful breakfast. Nice big menu but not too overwhelming. Give it a try. “This place is an unassuming gem. It was kind of out of the way of things, but it is worth a sit down experience. The restaurant itself is very nostalgic, there is a lot of seating and was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the food was really great. I mean this in the best way possible, it was no frills cuisine. So often, restaurants try to re-invent the wheel and it isn't always necessary. The portions were plentiful, the prices were great, it was all fresh and hot and delicious. I am personally a fan of the choice of vegetable egg rolls not spring rolls and I was delighted that they had both. They were amazing!! I do not eat meat, but based upon everything else and the flavor profile I am certain a meat dish would be great too. I definitely would visit again!“

“This is my new absolute favorite BBQ restaurant!! My partner and I ordered delivery for the first time, and we were beyond impressed!

First of all they have their own delivery drivers, which is better than those gig apps for everyone involved. They had no trouble finding our apartment, and the food got here early!

The food smelled amazing when we opened the packages, and it tasted heavenly. The quality is outstanding, and their variety of sauces is also splendid, they're delicious. There may have been a discrepancy on the ordering platform about what sauces they give with certain meals, but they still gave me the variety of sauces I asked for seemingly free of charge! Talk about excellent service! I loved getting to try the different types of sauces, they were all delicious. The next time we order we're going to have to buy some of their sauce bottles!

All the meats we ordered were incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, barbecued to perfection. The sides were amazing, too. That potato salad is to die for. Overall, an extremely positive experience and I'm excited to order again when money allows :)

I do see people complaining about the prices, but honestly I feel the prices make sense for what they offer. It's a lot harder to prepare food that takes 4+ hours to cook in a cost effective way on a daily basis than standard fare. Everything is also going up in price nowadays, but for the quality and effort offered, I don't think the prices are unfair.“

“Stayed at Harrah’s Casino in Joliet & food at the grill was terrible. Found The Old Fashioned Pancake House Restaurant on Jefferson St in Joliet the next morning and it was amazing. Service was quick, attentive and continuous. Food (breakfast) was simply outstanding and price was very good! I have traveled a lot and this place is a Five Star value in my book.“

“I had a bad experience my first time going after they opened but I gave it another try tonight and I was so impressed with the waitress, I asked her name she said Stephanie and she said she is fairly new, well hopefully you get alot more servers like her she was perfect and so extremely friendly, we will ask to be seated at her tables next time for sure! My first experience the waitress didn't even smile ,I had to ask numerous times for obvious items it was rediculous but definitely going back now also she wasn't just standing around like the last time I went 3 waitresses just chatting and actually had to ask for one of them to take our order after 15 minutes so tonight I give 5 stars last time I gave 1 star“

“Hidden gem with excellent food. We frequent a few times a month— because the food is just that good. Our fav apps include Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, & Pan Fried Dumplings. For entrees, can’t go wrong with Homemade Dumpling Soup, Thai Style Fried Rice, Pad Thai, or Thai BBQ Pork with noodles. My husband is more adventurous and his MVP’s are Massaman Curry & Thai Red Curry. We are slowly making our way through the entire menu but hard not to just order our favorites every time. Thai Milk Tea is also delish. Highly recommend checking it out!“

“Yesterday was our first time eating at Station One in Yorkville. I am kicking myself for not going sooner. The brisket was so tender it just fell apart. My mouth was watering watching them cut it up. So flavorful and smokey. Delicious. We also had the burnt ends which were the best we have had in a long time. Tender and moist. And we had the pulled pork. OMG! The best pulled pork I have had! Juicy and tender and so flavorful. We didn’t even need sauce on it. The house bbq sauce is delicious too. The sides were tasty too. “Wanted to give a huge shout out to the Joliet location. We stopped there after taking my grandmother to the casino and she didn’t have her wheelchair. She walks but very slowly. The staff was super kind and made sure she had a walkway and opened all the doors for her. They didn’t rush her or make her feel bad for taking a while! They cared and were so helpful! “This place is the tops. They hit every aspect of dining with precision and vigour. They have a unique and dynamic menu, a quality beer selection and solid cocktail options. Their prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality, and their service is top tier. I've been here on several occasions over the years and every experience has been meaningful. The most recent was a slow friday morning with a large family group and it was impeccable. Lots of needs and specific menu desires and everything was handled so well by our server Christian. From menu and drink recommendations to attentiveness, he provided exactly what you want from a dining experience. “I visited Rax on 07/05/2026 for the first time. I was very excited to try this place as I heard Rax used to be popular in the 90s and this is the only one in Illinois! As I was walking in I loved all the plants it felt very welcoming on the outside. The inside was a 90s look I loved it! The lady at the counter was very nice and the day I went it was empty inside sadly (Sunday Afternoon). But i took my food and headed over to the sunroom it was a warm day out and the sunroom stayed cool as there was hanging plants inside, it was beautiful! Everything here was super nostalgic and I hope it does not change! I got a beef n cheddar with curly fries. Honestly the beef was delicious and similar to Arby's minus the Arby sauce. I will totally be back. After I left I did some research I had no idea this was the 5th location Rax opened during there peak times. Thank you to the owner Terry, I hope your restaurant stays busy and please keep the 90s fast food aesthetics up!!“
