Without 17th Street, Southern Illinois wouldn't be known for their BBQ. Thanks for putting us on the map and inspiring all of us who want to become a BBQ staple in our communities. “Found this by accident. Reasonable drinks and food. Feels like a bar and restaurant that's been there a while. Nothing brand new or fancy but people were very friendly. My husband would definitely go back for their wings. I had gumbo and sandwich and they were yummy.“

“The BBQ is always outstanding. This place literally sets the standard for all BBQ everywhere. I’ve had BBQ all over the country. Lots a great BBQ out there for sure, but there is none better than 17th Street. Even the sides are pretty good. This is where so many BBQ joints lose me is when they have terrible sides. We did order some potato skins and some fried pickles. Both were very good. There is a huge volume of fried pickles in one order. We got too much when we ordered 2 servings of them. Service is always good.“

Our waitress was Lillie and she was absolutely amazing, so friendly! The atmosphere is welcoming with such a great view anywhere you sit. One of the best parts, it’s kid friendly!“

“My first visit. Here staying with family close by and they recommend I come try the burger shack. Rowan was here to welcome me in. Invited me to look at the full menu. She was pleasant and offered some suggestions. The food was great. The recommendation she made was delicious. Chicken bacon ranch fries. So good. Family was happy and so am I! I'll be back for the cheese steak.“

“This is one of my favorites!! The atmosphere is filled with nostalgia of celebrities that have passed through. The staff is friendly and always remember my face when I visit. (Hey Trina!!) The food is always cooked to order and delicious. I've never had to send anything back or complain. Definitely a place to try.“

“Fantastic steaks! My husband said it was the best Ribeye he’s had in a very long time. Visited on a weekend stay to Carbondale. We arrived around 7:30pm on Saturday and thankfully there was no wait. Comfy booths with high backs. Excellent staff, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend the Root Vegetable Hash, never heard of it but oh so good.“

I’m the newest big fan of Scotch eggs. Oktoberfest house sausage, smoked Gouda, and more wrapped in Oktoberfest pretzel crust. 10/10, so good.

I got THEE P.B.R. (Pork Belly Reuben). The meat was amazing quality, loaded with flavor, so tender.

Rachel really enjoyed the filet mignon, and the Black + Blue Daily cocktail was a nice intro. The green-looking beer is the Nerdy Dancing, tastes like a Nerds rope!
