The food was great and we had so many options to choose from. The service was wonderful during the cocktail hour and dinner. Our head captain was so attentive to my husband and I making sure everything was going well and checking in to see if we needed anything. “If I could give more stars, I would. Over the last couple years I have used many food delivery services, Hello Fresh, Freshly, Cook Unity, and now Wholsesome 360. The difference, QUALITY!!! Fresh ingredients, no fillers, high quality oils and fats, nice portions. Not that the other services are bad, but I compare them to frozen entrees at the grocery store, but taste a bit better. My Wholesome 360 entrees were restaurant quality, but with farm to table fresh ingredients-I could literally taste each of the food elements. If you are considering a food delivery service, I recommend paying the extra dollar per meal to get local fresh meals that are good for you, that heal you.“

“David and the Blue Plate Catering team were a dream to work with for our wedding celebration. Keeping it in the family, I had tasted the spread at BPC at my moms wedding in 2017 and knew they would be a top choice for our special day!

The appetizers were interesting and yummy, my favorite being the street corn tartlet and the bacon wrapped chorizo - YUM. I was so impressed with the quality of all the meats we had, the beef tenderloin with chimichurri was my personal favorite but the miso salmon and apricot chicken were a hit with our guests. They even offered a special (and bland) meal for my very dietary restricted friend. The end of the evening popcorn bar was such a fun touch to an evening on the dance floor. David’s team was easy to communicate with leading up to the day and day of, were fabulous at the table sides and making sure things were tasty, clean, and full! “We are so thrilled that we chose to go with Food for Thought for our August wedding! We got married at the Chicago Cultural Center, and while the venue has a number of preferred caterers, FFT was the one on that list that stood out to us. From the first phone call to the final calls and emails, they were so easy to communicate and plan with. Many of our guests said that this was the best food they've had at a wedding, and we agree we them! The hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, and custom drinks were all so delicious; everything turned out perfectly.
I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kacilynn, who was the one responsible for planning, organizing, and executing everything for us. When we met her for the tasting, she happily answered all of our questions and was just so fun to talk and work with. I had countless questions and updates throughout the planning process, especially in the final weeks, and she was responsive to everything.
One special thing she helped with was the champagne flutes; I had thrifted, cleaned, and packed over 100 champagne flutes for guests to use and take home, and I had been nervous this would be a burden to them to deal with, but she assured me that it could be done. She took the time to help me decide on a display option for them, and her team cleaned them before and after the event and packed away any leftover flutes. Her attention to detail and her ability to pull everything together seamlessly is truly unmatched.

“I was a little hesitant about ordering a vegan sandwich here because I’m not vegan so ordered the egg sandwich with sriracha bacon. My friend ordered the vegan so I could have a taste. The sandwich arrived on a large baguette which they bake fresh daily, actually all their bread is freshly baked. It was amazing and the egg was perfectly cooked. The sriracha bacon gave the sandwich a slight kick and so tasty. I took a bite of a half of the vegan sandwich and just froze. I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. The sandwich is made on fresh toasted rye bread. I ended up devouring the whole half and had to finish my egg sandwich because I couldn’t put it down. Then I went for the hat trick. A vegan ice cream sandwich, vegan peanut butter ice cream between two rich vegan chocolate cookies. The best part is you can’t beat the price. It’s a casual place with a take out window due to COVID. I believe they may be back to indoor dining when the weather changes. However, they do have nice outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy. But if you are ever in Logan Square , be sure to check it out. They have amazing home baked pastries, cookies, and do much more. Even better, the staff at the window are fun, energetic and friendly. Be sure to ask them for recommendations.
