“Best place to eat in Chicago! I started going there when the owner became a client of the company I was working for in the mid-90s, setting up cash registers in the restaurant he opened for his nephew. I no longer live in Chicago, but make it a point to stop there and speak with the owner every chance I get. Always great food and exceptional service! You may have to wait in line, though. Understandably, it's a very popular place!“

“We have been going to this little gem for a couple of years. We hit this bar up before going to the movies. Good food, good beer selection. Nicely crafted mixed drinks. Staff is friendly. Service laks at times because staff is too busy with the regulars but on point most of the time“

“Cocktails and draft beer were great. We went for a special PWHL event and it was packed and loud but I still got drinks in a reasonable time. The outdoor patio was a great choice for us as it was a little quieter but the shelter covering half the patio made it loud out there too. The trex booth seating were also nice.“

“Edelweiss is a pure gem and is THE best bar in Chicago. Laid back, friendly and a timeless classic former shift bar that now hosts a good mix of lively people. I’ve met one of my best friends in the city at this bar, spent birthdays, happy and sad moments here and the staff is just phenomenal. Olga is my favorite bartender in Chicago who has an incredible heart and makes you feel at home. Alex, who handles the karaoke machine is the best to sing your heart out with. “Brought the whole gang. Our hostess was awesome. Got some extra bread and a Blooming Onion. Drinks quick too. And even got in without a wait at 11am on Fathers Day. The manager stopped by to check on us, so nice. Meals were on time and prepared just right. Mine was a wedge salad, six ounce steak, and asparagus. Still, the menu is great, lot's of choices. “The sign says established in 1932, and every time I've driven by, I think I need to stop in. I finally did, and am kicking myself for wasted time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The large bar and restaurant seating is comfortable and spacious. There is a variety of beers on tap, served in well-frosted glasses. We sat at the bar and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had, served with homemade chips. It was so good that I almost returned with another companion the next day!“
