“The sign says established in 1932, and every time I've driven by, I think I need to stop in. I finally did, and am kicking myself for wasted time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The large bar and restaurant seating is comfortable and spacious. There is a variety of beers on tap, served in well-frosted glasses. We sat at the bar and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had, served with homemade chips. It was so good that I almost returned with another companion the next day!“

“We have been going there for over a year on the first Friday of every month to see the free live music! It is always a great time and family friendly. The kids really get into the music. The band is excellent, providing music of all genres. If they have live music every Friday, we would be there every Friday! The staff is great and the food above average! See you the first Friday of every month!“

“The app was having an issue so I had to call and place my order I dread calling places but Kenyea answered the phone and was so nice! She sounded happy and glad to help me. When I went in to pick up my order Nehemiah was at the register and was smiling greeted me asked if I was placing an order or if I was doing pick up. He was friendly. He seemed happy just the whole atmosphere was really good. They both gave me really good customer service and just the atmosphere alone between the employee seemed to be happy which you really don’t see much in restaurants anymore. The food was great also!“

“Really cool local neighborhood spot! Babe’s has a fun atmosphere with pink everywhere, which gives the place its own personality without feeling overdone. You can tell they’re passionate about creating a space that celebrates women athletes and women’s sports, and that makes it feel different from your typical sports bar.

They have some really good mixed drinks along with a solid selection of cans and bottles. The beers were ice cold, the bartenders were great, and the whole place had that welcoming neighborhood-bar feel that you just don’t find much anymore.

“I’m in town for work and, after having an absolutely terrible day, I just wanted to find a good place to sit outside, listen to some live music, and unwind. I had never been here before, so I came in and waited at the front to be seated outside near the band. After standing there for a while without anyone acknowledging me, I finally decided I’d just sit at the bar instead.

I sat at the bar for about 10 minutes and still no one came over. At that point, I was honestly ready to leave.

Then Jade came over.

She noticed me looking outside and immediately asked if I had been helped. Without me even asking, she offered to find me a place to sit outside near the music. She went completely out of her way to find me a spot, told me she would take care of me, and proceeded to serve me the entire night, even though I don’t believe that was originally her responsibility.

She completely turned my experience around.

I found out later that Jade is brand new, which made me even more impressed. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care. She just has a light about her that you can’t teach.

I work in HR, so I know good talent when I see it. Jade is a keeper. I hope management recognizes what they have in her because she absolutely deserves the recognition. What started as a night where I was ready to walk out ended up being exactly what I needed after a really hard day, and that was entirely because of Jade. She rocks 💕“

“A legendary local bar in making.....great vibe...and has different nights that include live music..and Fyi the dj spins vinyl on certain Saturday nights ..also great place to watch your favorite Chicago sports team... definitely one of my favorite places...to go with friends....a bar you can go to alone and end making friends with other locals in the area...also they have a pool table...that is well taken care of ..so if ya like pool...this place is great to meet other players..“

“i’m writing this review as i’m still sitting in the booth because it was just THAT good.

i ordered the french onion burger with the regular fries on the side, and let me tell you i haven’t had a burger check every box like this one. the garlic aioli was the perfect amount of flavor to complement the caramelized onions. the bun was seemingly buttered and fluffy. and the fries!! they had a flakey salt with not one fry left unsalted. they were also thin and crispy to perfection.

the service was great and every staff member was always smiling. i never write reviews but this one felt very necessary. 5 stars from me!“

“Stopped in for some much needed food after a long flight, and man was it worth it! Mike the bartender immediately started cracking jokes and welcomed me to the city with a smile. The food was amazing (definitely recommend the chicken sandwich), and the beers were well priced! They also have daily specials. Will come back here ASAP the next time I’m back in Chicago!“

“Edelweiss is a pure gem and is THE best bar in Chicago. Laid back, friendly and a timeless classic former shift bar that now hosts a good mix of lively people. I’ve met one of my best friends in the city at this bar, spent birthdays, happy and sad moments here and the staff is just phenomenal. Olga is my favorite bartender in Chicago who has an incredible heart and makes you feel at home. Alex, who handles the karaoke machine is the best to sing your heart out with. I always bring out of town visitors, friends and loved ones here all the time, and is my space in the city. I started going there when the owner became a client of the company I was working for in the mid-90s, setting up cash registers in the restaurant he opened for his nephew. I no longer live in Chicago, but make it a point to stop there and speak with the owner every chance I get. Always great food and exceptional service! You may have to wait in line, though. Understandably, it's a very popular place!“

“Stopped by this bar because it's close to my new place, and I'll admit I hesitated before walking in. Glad I didn't let that stop me. It's a great, laid-back sports bar with a genuinely welcoming staff. Over a few visits I've been taken care of by Christina, Maya, McKenzie, and Jagger, and every one of them has been hospitable, attentive, and easy to talk to. They are the best!
The space itself works for any crowd. Plenty of TVs, room to spread out both upstairs and downstairs, and a patio that opens up when the weather cooperates. It's a good place to watch sports, with nice TVs throughout. If anything about your order isn't right, the staff won't hesitate to make it right. No attitude, just honesty and good service.
They also run solid daily specials. I stopped in on a Wednesday and got a burger and fries for ten dollars, and another time tried the chicken salad. Nothing fancy, but both were solid, better than what you'd expect from typical bar food. I haven't gotten a full grasp of the rest of the menu yet, but from what I've tried so far, it's been good enough to keep coming back.
