“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

Free valet is great, seated without a wait at 5:30 on a Saturday night was unexpected!

“Had lunch there today and I have to say this is the first time I was disappointed with the service. The food was excellent but that's it. Asked for 2nd drink and never got it. Water was never refilled until we were through eating. When first ordering our wine we had problems. I will continue to eat here and hopefully this is a one time occurrence.“

However, multiple groups walked in at 7:45 /8:00 and were greeted in the downstairs by an equally annoyed expression from the employees. I guess they close at 9and I'm assuming they were annoyed people showed up before closing (even though it was an hour before and I had a reservation.) when I checked online, they still offered reservations until 8:45. Everything else was amazing, but it was really off putting. Enough so that I would think twice about going back.“

“My fiancé and I have been a gyro war. I’m a Skokie Dengeos girl and he’s a diehard Squabs fan. While it’s hard to compete with childhood memories after trying Squabs I totally get it. The gyro was perfectly cooked, the tzatziki was beautiful, the fries were delicious. The absolute standout was the customer service. I was having such a bad day. I confused the gyro plate with the gyro dinner and they took such good care of me. I had cried the whole ride over and left with the biggest smile and a plate of leftovers. 10/10 I will be coming back every chance I get.“

“I just had the best gyro of my life at Gyro Guys! From the first bite, I knew I was in for something special. The gyro was completely full of meat and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. This gyro was a real nuke it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pita was soft and fresh, and the tzatziki sauce was creamy and tangy, complementing the gyro perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is known as Chef Zuzu, he told me they recently opened up and seems like a great, honest, and hardworking business owner. “Absolutely outstanding! The food is extremely fresh and timing of the dishes during our visit was spot on. Our sever, Juan, took care to watch from afar and make sure our meal flowed. The busser was on his game as well! I don’t think my water ever fell below the halfway point. We enjoyed the Gyros ( a must try), prawns, mussels, potatoes, and saganaki. The portions were perfect. To be honest, we should have called it quits after the prawns but we couldn’t help our selves, it was just that good. Owner stopped by for a quick hello and welcome. “Found Tama Chicago on a restaurant guide. I'm glad we tried it, we enjoyed every dish we had. We had the empanadas which were freshly made, moist and delicious. We would eat those again all day. We had the mussels and that was really tasty as well. Love the saffron sauce it was cooked in. We would get those again. We also had the short rib and orzo and that was good. I would say the orzo was the star of the dish, it was really flavorful. The short rib itself didn't really have much flavor and didn't add much to the dish. We also had the burger and that was the superstar of the whole meal. Great quality meat, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. I would drive an hour for that burger. One of the best burgers in Chicago. We are definitely going back to Tama to try other dishes they had on the menu.“

“I walk and run by George’s pretty often and was craving a gyro so I decided to stop in. It’s a bit of a whole in the wall but sometimes that’s the best kind of vibe. I decided to get the gyro plate which came with way more food than I expected. It was pretty delicious and came out pretty quickly. I took it to go and it held up well in transit.“
