“I’ve been here several times, and the food is consistently fresh and tasty! 🐟🔥 I did have one issue with a potato that was brown on the inside and had an unusual taste, but thankfully that was the only problem I’ve experienced. The broccoli and coleslaw were both really good, and I usually don’t even eat coleslaw! 😋 My favorite is definitely the spicy cod-it’s so good! ❤ The customer service is also on point, and the guys are always friendly and welcoming. 🙏🏾 Overall, always a great experience!“

“When heading towards Beverly for a property management home inspection, I wanted to find a local coffee joint that I could get a coffee and a snack of some sort. Afro Joe's was calling to me. Walking in, greeted warmly, the adventure began. If you haven't been, check the menu before you go because you will want to order one of each item! Since it was my first time, most certainly NOT the last, I needed a lifeline. Charmaine to the rescue. I don't know if I manifested or she read my mind , but when I asked which sandwich I should order instantly , she said the short rib! Boom! Done. Next up, a drink choice. Again I was not led astray. The option was a blueberry lavender cold brew topped with rose cold foam. As she was suggesting the option, Charmaine lifted the one she was drinking and again instantly sold. No chocolate croissant available since it was later in the morning but the chocolate morning roll was there and three for three, the order was placed. I already know that I have to come back, time and time again.Just walking in such a chill vibe , perfect music, everyone tables either working or chatting with a friend. The open kitchen invites you to see the hustle and bustle. The garage doors roll up onto the patio for warmer days and what appears to be local art work adorns the walls. When I tell you, this is absolutely no exaggeration, every item was on point! The short rib was so flavor forward eith the bite of picked onions, there was a side of diced pickles and onions too. Also a hit. The warm bun had some fruit nestled in its chocolatey tummy, flakes and moist with the richness of cocoa. And for the latte, cold, sweet and the flavors all complimented each other so well. I did opt for whole milk because, why not?!? I had one too many client emails and texts to be able to enjoy grabbing a book from the shelf but note, they even had the sharpest of colored pencils to doodle or write a note with. I have not one complaint, well, maybe one, I wish they were in my neighborhood because this would be a staple place to visit regularly! “Yesterday I took the Sourdough Breadmaking Class with Chef George at The Ancestral Oven and I just pulled an amazing loaf of bread out of my home oven 24 hours later! Chef George provided all the necessary instruction and supplies - including a lively starter - for students to start their own sourdough journey at home. The class included hands-on experience feeding the starter, as well as folding and shaping the dough. I had a great time at the class and can't wait to return to try out the breakfast and lunch menu at The Ancestral Oven Bakery and Cafe.“

; especially given the fact the party was on the 2nd floor and very warm out mid-afternoon but that AC was amazing. The staff and especially the server Sarah were by far the BEST server I’ve ever had interaction with anywhere; didn’t even have to say “a word” to her and she had “my drink of choice” ready and on refill. “I'm my way to Midway and decided to get something to eat and I decided to go to the Best Shawerma. Let me tell you!!! I am glad that I decided to stop here. I got the combination plate. This dish is plenty for a hungry soul. The chicken is flavored perfectly, the rice is also flavored perfectly. The beef and lamb are cooked and flavored well also. Everything is seasoned, so good that I didn't need to use the three sauces that came with the meal. Everything time I fly into Midway, I am definitely making a stop when I land or when I'm going home.“

The food and drinks are great (obsessed with the lavender lemonade they make in the summer), the bar itself is very cool and historic and their outdoor patio is dog friendly. My husband has done the distillery tour for his bachelor party and thought it was really fun. Highly recommend!“

“First time Golden Bear in Lansing. The food and service was great. However, when I checked my bank account I was charged $9.98 more then the amount on the receipt I received from the register. When I went back the manager was very nice & helpful. She refunded the $. The restaurant receipt had the same amount. I pulled up my bank account & showed her the amount from my bank. We both thought it was so strange! Maybe the register malfunctioned? Again the manager was awesome!“

Chips and salsa that was served as part of the table wasn’t fresh and the salsa wasn’t good. The lady in the front didn’t seem too friendly. Prices are reasonable. Quiet atmosphere. Clean place.
