Can’t begin to say enough good things about this place…not gas station food, custom fresh made to your liking off their full menu. Doughnuts were great, flapjacks were outstanding. Great variety of coffee products - regular, cold brew, lattes etc. The staff were warm and friendly, making you feel at home and explaining the menu to you. Met the co-owner, wonderful lady with passion for this place. Can’t believe it has been open for over 2 years. Great kept little secret. Will be back to try more of the menu!“

“Coffee here is solid — nothing mind-blowing, but definitely good and consistent with no complaints. The real standout is the space: it’s very spacious with plenty of seating, and there’s always a few people getting work done. It makes for a really comfortable place to hang out for a while.

The service, though, has been a bit odd in my experience. I’ve been here a handful of times, and more often than not I end up standing at the counter for a few minutes before being acknowledged, and when I am, it can feel a bit begrudging.

That said, I’d still come back—the atmosphere and space make it a great spot to work and enjoy a coffee.“

“Samarkand Café is a charming, lantern-lit slice of Central Asia that easily earns a very strong four stars. The plov is deeply satisfying—fragrant rice, meltingly tender lamb, and those sweet raisins that make every forkful addictive—while the grilled kebabs deliver proper charcoal punch and the hand-pulled laghman noodles have exactly the right springy bite. Manti are plump and comforting, the tea ritual is lovely, and the warmly hospitable service makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than a customer. It’s only held back from a full five by occasional inconsistency (one visit the meat was perfection, another slightly dry) and a dessert selection that feels a touch limited. Still, for authentic Uzbek soul food in an atmosphere that glows with genuine Central Asian spirit, Samarkand remains an absolute delight well worth repeat visits.“

“My sister introduced me to this wonderful tea shop and I cannot recommend them enough. Their Earl Grey de la Crème blend changed my perception of the Leafy Noble and many of their other teas are just as scrumptious. Even non tea lovers can find something they like since the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and will find something for even the pickiest palate. If you are in the area, skip the Starbucks and venture here. It will be well worth your while.“

I did my order on the app, I ordered coffee which wasn't available anymore, I didn't notice time frames and the app allowed me to buy this drink, when I got to pick up window, the girl which works there, very friendly and wonderful young woman apologized so much explaining that they don't have this coffee at that time no more and gave me 3 donuts for that. “We love Eli’s Cheesecake in Chicago and have been coming every year ( at least 10 years as of now) to pick up cheesecakes for the holidays. We usually buy 20+ cheesecakes for our friends and neighbors, and the service is always wonderful. Rosa, the store manager, was always especially kind and helpful during our visits. So and Bryan and the rest of the team this past holiday were friendly and helpful too.

If you're that person, get over to the Expresso Shoppe on York Road in Bensonville, meet Dave and try his shop roasted Carioca beans, the best I've ever had. Hang out with people who really know and repair machines and share that passion (okay, obsession) for espresso. It's just west of O'Hare, and worth the trip.“
