However, I came in on July 30th, 2026, only to notice that their summer menu was in full swing. On the menu there was a “Funky Monkey” available. Enticing for sure, but how could I forfeit the opportunity to once again indulge in the “Dirty Hippie.” I mulled my options, verbalizing this dilemma with my bestest friend and the barista on staff. She noted that the banana syrup, exclusive to the “Funky Monkey,” could be added to the “Dirty Hippie.” I knew what had to be done. It was in that moment the “Funky Hippie” was born. My only regret is that I drank all of mine. Perhaps what we want most is what we had and lost. Go to Tala. Experience the “Funky Hippie.” You might ask why I would be willing to share this secret recipe with you all. It is my mission to spread that which is good in this world. “Really liked the MOTW in Skokie. I tried the lavender latte, mango matcha, and empanadas, and everything was really good. You can definitely tell the ingredients are good quality & the empanadas being warmed up was amazing. The atmosphere is really nice and open, so it’s great for studying or hanging out with friends. “I went in today to try the new Cookie Butter Pumpkin latte I saw on their instagram, and I’m so glad I did. Tastes exactly like cookie butter and pumpkin—I was honored to be the first to try it. The price is comparable to a dunkin latte, but it always feels and tastes better to support local businesses. The staff inside were very nice as well! I didn’t snap any pictures because we ate them so quickly, but their Hazelnut Beignets are a must try, especially at such a low price (<$2)) Now that I’m back home, I’ll definitely be by here more often. I know my customers are happy. I’ve seen people sitting there with a smile and I’m so glad they are here with us in downtown Mount Prospect.

“Stopped here for lunch. The establishment was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Great variety of things to choose from. The staff were friendly and quick. The ham and cheese croissant, pistachio spiral croissant, and iced hazelnut latte were very good. My only complaint would be that it is a little pricey but that wouldn’t stop me from eating there again or recommending to others.“

“I stop here a couple times a week. I order whatever seasonal cold brew they have at that time, and I’ve noticed some inconsistency in the quality of the drink, entirely depending on who’s working that specific day.

Some days, it’s literally the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Other days, it tastes like coffee that sat in melted ice, then poured over more ice and handed out the window. For the price, consistency should be 🔒.

Otherwise, this place is amazing. Great staff, extremely quick and don’t have you sitting for 20 minutes like a Starbucks. I also enjoy the larger sizes most places don’t offer! Flavor concepts for the drinks are always great, too!

It was our very first time visiting Scooter’s Coffee, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The employee at the window was extraordinarily friendly, patient, and knowledgeable in helping us navigate the menu.
The ordering process was effortless, and our order came out insanely fast without sacrificing quality. Everything was delicious:
Cinnamon Cold Brew: Hands down, as perfect as a cold brew can be. Smooth, rich, and full of flavor—I had to make my wife take a sip just so she could experience how good it was!
Sugar free Strawberry Cold Brew: My wife absolutely loved hers, saying it tasted just like a rich, delicious milkshake.
Maple Waffle Sandwich: Golden, warm waffle bun stacked with savory sausage, egg, and melted cheese. Warm, savory, sweet, and incredibly fresh.
The overall setup and location design are top-notch. While there’s no indoor seating, the outdoor patio area is exceptionally clean, shaded, and inviting, complete with tables and bench seating. They’ve made convenience a priority with a smooth drive-thru lane, a convenient walk-up ordering window, and designated parking spots specifically for mobile order pickup. (Plus, a huge bonus for pet parents—they have a sign up for free Pup Cups for good dogs!)
