“We had a wonderful experience at Cafe 44! We tried the iced latte, matcha latte, cappuccino, Americano, and the Dubai chocolate, and every single item was outstanding. “I’ve been coming here a while since they opened. It’s great to have this location in downtown Mount Prospect.
I live within walking distance, live right across from the library.
As always, the owners as you can see the gentleman in the pictures always smiling happy that we are all enjoying his restaurant.

The husband and wife team are amazing people there they have a great display of machines, snacks, Ramen, and the best fun drinks.

Today I went by because I was on a huge DoorDash order. It’s great to be able to come here as a customer and as a delivery driver.

So many drinks I took to a companies office.

It’s so great that the owners has the order ready for me as I arrived and can do very large orders.

I know my customers are happy. I’ve seen people sitting there with a smile and I’m so glad they are here with us in downtown Mount Prospect.

We’ve had our place since 2016 and I’ve seen many buildings and businesses come into our area.

First, the atmosphere:
The interior is beautifully designed: cozy but spacious, modern yet still incredibly inviting. There are comfortable seating options for everyone — whether you want to tuck away in a quiet corner with a book, spread out your laptop and get some work done, or sit at a window table and people-watch. Soft music plays in the background, at a perfect volume that adds to the vibe without overpowering conversations. The space is bright and airy during the day, thanks to the big windows, and feels warm and intimate in the evening with the soft lighting. It’s the kind of place you walk into and immediately think, “Yes… this is where I want to spend some time.”
Now, the coffee — absolutely phenomenal.
You can tell that the baristas here genuinely care about what they’re doing. The espresso is rich, smooth, and expertly pulled; the lattes are silky and balanced; and the specialty drinks are incredible without being overly sweet or artificial. Everything tastes thoughtfully crafted. I ordered a latte (my usual test of a new café) and it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time — velvety microfoam, deep coffee flavor, and perfectly served at the right temperature. I’ve since tasted a few of their signature drinks and each one impressed me: creative, unique, and absolutely delicious.
Their pastries and food deserve a shout-out too.
Fresh, flaky, and flavorful — exactly what you want alongside great coffee. You can tell they pay attention to quality and don’t just rely on pre-packaged items like many shops do. Whether you grab a croissant, a muffin, or something more hearty, everything feels intentional and homemade.
And I can’t forget the staff — truly wonderful people.
Helpful, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They greet you like you’re a regular, even if you’re here for the first time. All in all, this coffee shop has become one of my favorite places to relax, work, or meet friends. There were unique drink options and I tried the spiced vanilla latte which was good, but not insane. Just a simple cute coffee shop with decent coffee.
