Upon entering we were greeted with a warm good morning from the cooks and the waitresses, even though they were slammed. We took spots at the counter so we could watch the cooks work their magic. We came in from Toronto for a conference and after our first experience with her, we were back the very next day. Food was as expected from a Denny's franchise.One disturbing item - it was raining hard, and we asked if we could go out the side door nearer where our car was parked. We didn't realize it was an emergency exit, so the refusal to use it was understandable. What was disturbing was that the on-duty manager said the door was locked, and she did not have a key. Just imagine needing to use that exit but unable to do so because no one there had a key, and the franchise owner (who had the key) was not on the premises. As I said, disturbing.Parking: This is one of the few businesses in all of downtown Oak Park that has a free parking lot. Thank you, Denny's.“
