“HUGE shout out to our amazing Fairlane Diner! Last night on our way home from a basketball game in Nokomis we decided to call and order Fairlane Diner for dinner. We did not realize they closed at 8pm and had dialed the phone at 7:55pm, the friendly woman answering the phone politely took our order and it was hot and fresh when we arrived at 8:15pm! “I had a host of family come visit from out of town. I ordered 50 piece wings from California Kitchen, it came with fries and 2 cans of pop. I was told 15 minutes for pick up and did not check the food prior to leaving. The chicken was fried very hard and wasn't good. I didn't call until the next morning and spoke to a manager. The manager was pleasant and very understanding. I was able to bring back the chicken from the previous day and recieved a full new 50 piece meal for my visiting family. He even asked if I wanted to keep the order that was messed up. Amazing customer service and the food was really good. I would always order from them, they really know how to treat their customers!! The new location is great too!.“

“Been coming to Cook’s since I worked across the street at camp Lincoln years upon years ago. Went back today for the first time in several years. The quality, freshness, quick, and friendly service was EXACTLY how I remember. Their whole grain bread is to die for. I don’t get to this side of town as often as I used to, but it is absolutely worth stopping in. Definitely one of Springfield’s hidden gems!“

“As a small business owner, I love trying new local spots — and Aunt Lou’s absolutely did not disappoint. It was so delicious and had that sweet nostalgia of the days when you’d buy a plate from a friend and sit around the table way too long. We ordered the fried chicken breast dinners with cabbage, mashed potatoes & brown gravy, plus red beans and rice with cornbread on the side. We also tried the fried deviled eggs (these SURPRISED us — and we immediately wished we’d ordered more!) and the Chicago-style wings — breaded, tossed, all flats. So freakin’ good. We’ll definitely be back. If you’ve been looking for your next local comfort and soul food fix, this is the place!“

“We called same day after a catering service did not show up to provide lunch for the team of volunteers who was helping to clean up at the animal shelter that was impacted by the tornado. The store only had 3 staff but didn’t hesitate to immediately help create catering boxes for over 75 people in less than an hour. They were so friendly and incredibly impactful to the work we were doing. Can’t say thank you enough!! What a great community partner!“

“We love Gyro Stop. The food never disappoints and the staff is great. But if you close at a certain time, that should mean you close at that time. I tried to call in an order 45 minutes before close, which I think is reasonable. I got a recording that said they prefer online orders. Great! So do I. Nope. They stop taking those an hour before close. Called again and the recording gave me the options and I selected to speak to someone to place an order and was placed on hold. After a minute or so, I was told they couldn't take my call and to try again in 5-10 minutes. I decided to just go in and place it. Nope. Door was locked 30 minutes before close. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. I've worked in the service industry so I am very understanding of the employees' time but if you say you're open until 7 (this was a Saturday), then stay open until 7.“

“Food was good but kinda cold when it came out. Not worth asking to have it reheated as it took 75 minutes for us to get our food. They seem to have a lot of outdoor seating but only one kitchen makes all the food? If they have multiple kitchens, then I dont understand why food was so slow to come out. I had bbq pulled pork sandwich which was dry, as there was a scant dollop of bbq sauce on bun.

For starters, the grilled salmon and rice are incredible (I almost wanted seconds, but I can’t be greedy—I want you guys to try it). The waitress and staff were awesome. Hardly any wait time, and finally, the menu looks really good.“

“the burgers are always delicious, favorite of mine is the mushroom swiss burger and the western.

i highly recommend getting their horseshoes with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and fresno sauce (with the cheese sauce as well). its so good! remember to get a drink.

4.5 star-Kelley is a great server and she does her job with a smile and she's on the ball. I had the all-you-can-eat and the third order which is a small one took quite a long time for some reason. By the way their hot honey sauce is awesome, just make sure you like spice according to my friend.

They had a party of 12 walk in right before us, with only 1 cook. they done their best to make it fast to seat us, and others. Usally we wouldn't wait that long, but all the staff was extremely friendly and working hard to please all customers. 1 young waitress cause she didn't have a sitter and had to bring her little boy to work with her... But SHE WAS THERE! working her butt off. we told her to put him with us, we played with him until the grandma cane to pick him up. The whole team worked together great. they were all young. my husband and I sat there and enjoyed our meal, while watching this young crew admiring them all for their dedication to try their best to do what they had to do to please their customers and provide for their families. kudos to this IHOP, for a job well done today.
