It is a one pound fried chicken breast with Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a bun. Came with a side. All five of us in our party got our food quickly and enjoyed it.“

“Our server, Jake, is down to earth, personable, and goes above and beyond the call of duty. We visit Chicago on a regular basis since moving to IL, and Jake is by far the best server we’ve met In the area.

“We live within walking distance of BSB and have dined here 30+ times since we have lived here. We have NEVER had a bad meal or a bad experience, which is SO impressive to say after that many visits. The food is amazing and the weekly specials are so good you wished they made the main menu. Their outdoor seating is great throughout the seasons and we loved bringing our dog here (and he loved it too). Now we bring our daughter who is a BIG fan of the mac & cheese and tots. This is a restaurant we will truly miss being so close to the day we decide to move.“

“They have a large menu of of maki and sushi! It was so hard to choose! The fish was fresh and the combinations in the rolls were amazing. My daughter also got the ramen (shoyu I think) and it was excellent. The broth was so rich! We all loved it!“

“Burritos are huge, and delicious! If you can, get guacamole and sour cream, it enhances the burrito. (we ate ours at home and we were able to add as much sour cream and guacamole as we wanted…Yum!)

Tacos were simple, nothing to write home about. My daughter said they were traditional simple tacos.. meat, lettuce, onions, cilantro and she’s pretty sure they had rice.

“This place is a hidden gem. I live right down the road from it and didn’t realize it was there until my cousin told me about it. Best pizza in Rockford hands down. I don’t suggest the stuffed crust because the pizza gets a bit too thin at least for my liking for the normal crust pizza is amazing.“

The fries were outstanding. The Filipino Chicken Adobo was very delicious, the egg and sauce were perfect together. Chicken was perfectly cooked. The Lumpiang Shanghai was a great starter to the meal. The Ube cheesecake was ok, but not very flavorful. The Aluna Water was surprisingly refreshing and worth the $10. I haven’t been here since it changed brands, overall decent experience and would try again when not so busy for an event.“

The selection of spirits rivals that of any upscale establishment. The service was top-notch. Our "Geronimo Moment" appetizer was a delightful surprise — we’ll definitely be back for that Shrimp! As for the main course, if there was any doubt about making this steakhouse one of our regulars, it was quickly erased. The meat was perfectly cooked as ordered, well-seasoned, and the additions were excellent choices that truly enhanced the dish. The salad, soup, potatoes, and dessert were all delicious as well. I wouldn't change a thing about this dining experience. For the quality, options, and overall experience, the price was reasonable for the area. My only regret is not visiting sooner. Merrill & Houston's is a must-try for special occasions, business meetings, family dinners, or even just drinks and appetizers.“

“I was told that Gerry’s Pizza is amazing. Well it really isn’t. We tried it yesterday for the first time. We asked for a very thin crust and while it was thin it wasn’t more so than any other thin crust. The sauce lacked flavor. It was at best bland. We asked for extra sausage & cheese. If what they gave us was extra I’d hate to see what regular cheese & sausage consisted of. The bigger letdown was the “Fresh Calamari.” This wasn’t fresh! It was straight from the freezer bag to the deep fryer. Breading was very institutional from a place like Gordon Food Service. The person that took my order over the phone and got my food for me was very nice. You get one chance to make a first impression. Gerry’s food fell far short.“
