The ambiance strikes an ideal note—refined yet relaxed—making it a natural choice for a pre-dinner aperitif or a lingering post-meal nightcap. During a recent visit, a live singing group added a festive touch, infusing the space with genuine Christmas cheer without overwhelming the intimate atmosphere. While we have not yet sampled the food, dishes arriving at neighboring tables are beautifully presented and look enticing, suggesting the bar program is thoughtfully complemented by the kitchen. I decided to go back to eat a few days later with my family all the food was great and we are quite picky!! “Great little place to stop in for a drink or evening bar food. It's our neighborhood dive bar, and we love it. The owner is easy to talk to and has some great jokes. We love the "oldman" bar feel and like it just the way that it is, has pool table, darts and gaming.“

“Friend of mine introduced me to this place around 2 months ago and we now go every Saturday. The food is absolutely amazing and cannot beat her prices.From the homemade chips n dip to the salad to the main course... Steak and chef's choice on potato/veggie. Everything is cooked to PERFECTION. Had asparagus tonight and just the perfect crunchI cannot say enough good things about this place. Our waitress is the BEST. The first time I went, I got the Ruben and a Guinness which was amazing and packed full of beef and layered with Swiss cheese and Sour Kraut. The second time I went and got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza which lived up to the bar set by the Ruben. I got another Guinness and a Basil Hayden and Basil Hayden Toasted both neat and with water backs. While enjoying my drink I had an amazing chat with the bartender, who is very knowledgeable about mixology.

Overall, the best place in all of northern Illinois to get a drink and food with family and friends.“

We also really enjoyed the conversations with the bartenders — friendly, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. I mentioned that I appreciated the TVs being on the same channel, because when multiple screens are on different channels, the flickering lights can be overwhelming for me. I’m disabled and live with Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) and CPTSD, along with chronic migraines. The sunglasses I wear help reduce light sensitivity from LEDs and neon lighting, and the staff was kind, open, and understanding when I explained this. It meant a lot to be treated with respect and curiosity rather than judgment. The bartender was friendly, approachable, and handled the conversation with warmth and professionalism. Great atmosphere, great people, and a place that makes you feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back.“
