“I keep seeing this brewery pop up and for good reason! It’s spacious, so you don’t feel crowded even when there’s a crowd there. They have a pool table and darts that add to the fun and entertainment! Excellent selection of beer and a great tap. Staff are the sweetest and I hear they have popups there sometimes too! Super dog friendly.“

“The perfect bar, I fear. I can’t believe I have ANY pictures in this place because I’m always just talking to someone or playing pool or queueing up songs on the jukebox. There’s something about this place that you can’t really take a picture of: the people are always friendly and chill, you can tell it has a low staff turnover rate, the food is ALWAYS good. This is the kind of bar which would be the ultimate muse for a poet from the 1800s. My one drink photo is an espresso martini that was made with love, but know that they put just as much love into every beer they pour. It just isn’t as instagrammable.“

“I’ve lost count of how many burgers I’ve eaten from Rootstock over the years, and somehow it still manages to exceed my expectations every single time.

This burger became a pandemic takeout staple in our house, but whether I’m dining in or grabbing it to go, the quality never wavers. The burger is everything you want it to be—perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and somehow both comforting and indulgent at the same time.

And then there are the fries. Plenty of places serve fries with garlic aioli, but Rootstock’s version is one of those dishes I find myself craving weeks later. Crisp, golden, and consistently excellent.

What impresses me most is the consistency. Restaurants can have great nights and off nights, but Rootstock seems incapable of missing. After years of visits and takeout orders, they’ve earned my trust completely.

I’ve eaten burgers all over Chicago, and this remains my favorite. If you live nearby, consider yourself lucky. If you don’t, it’s worth the trip.“

“Everything was great. From the food to the service and even the prices. My husband and I went for Valentines day. We got the V-Day which was a birria pizza n desert for $25. My husband had the ground beef enchilada dinner. We both had a passion fruit margarita. The birria pizza was cooked to perfection. The meat was seasoned, tender, and tasty. The consome was 10 out of 10. My husband said every in the enchiladas dinner was good. The owner and his wife are very friendly. The wife took the order and had a wonderful conversation with us. “Social Junkie is one the top 3 best bars in the dunning area. I’ve been coming here since they rebranded and it’s always been a fun time! Great drink selections and their food is outstanding. I’ve tried a couple of different items from their menu over the years and I recently got their Parma burger and fries. They were both delightful and it’s one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. I can’t explain it, but the taste was so unique and also very affordable compared to other bar and grills in the city. It’s a worth a visit when you are in the dunning area!“
