“Came in with a friend who had never had boba before. The owner(?) recommended her a flavor and offered to make her a different kind if she didn't like it. She had brown sugar, I had taro, and my wife had a caramel latte boba. All were delicious! We also got the mini pancake bites which were fantastic. The owner(?) was super nice and gave us free water as well. If it wasn't a 40 minute drive for us we would be here all the time!“

“Having recently moved near the area, I finally decided to check this place out. I absolutely love trying new boba shops, and I am thrilled that this one is so close by. Great atmosphere with cute decorations and plenty of seating. There was only one worker behind the counter at the time who greeted me as soon as I walked in. She was so sweet and made my drink very quickly.

As for the boba itself… it’s great! I got a brown sugar boba milk tea which I was glad to know was non-dairy (despite my love for all things dairy, I am lactose-intolerant. Booooo). The milk tea itself was great. For a brown sugar drink, it wasn’t too sweet at all, which I liked as I usually get my drinks with less sweetness. However, the tapioca was a little hard, a result of it either sitting out for too long or being chilled. I’m sure it would’ve been a thousand percent better with the tapioca’s real chewy texture, but I suppose I can’t complain since I walked in on a slow Wednesday afternoon.

Great shop overall, and I surely will be a regular!

“I tried the ancient brown sugar milk and enjoyed the flavor! The boba was perfectly cooked—soft and chewy just how I like it. However, I wasn’t happy with the quantity of the tapioca pearls in the drink, it was lesser than expected and the drinks could surely use some more ice (I asked for regular ice), but overall it was a good experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying more flavors!“

“The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is amazingly good and a fulfilling snack! The popcorn chicken is definitely shareable for 2 people. The mango lemonade drink was certainly refreshing for a hot summer Chicago day. The black tea boba milk tea was nicely balance in terms of taste and sugar. The milk tea wasn't too sweet at all, which I like. The amount of tapioca pearls you get is adequate for the size.

TBaar is one of THE only few places that actually have good boba tea.“

“This was the second time I came here. The first time they didn’t have all of the food items. Now, you can have dinner and dessert at the same place. They only have one kiosk to order from. Most of the time they were in the back. The people are actually very nice but their customer service skills could use some work. When I asked for extra spoons, I didn’t receive any sarcastic or snide remarks. I ordered just an iced milk tea (Thai) with brown sugar jelly. The results are very decent, not the best. Price was fair. I had a sample of my partner’s bingsoo. They come in two different sizes, the cup one is for one person. The other one can be shared between 2-3 people. Fresh ingredients and good ice cream. They have tables and booths for groups and couples. Ample seating. They also have some props for taking pictures with.“

“I’ve been here 3x this week and it’s been a solid experience every time. The portions are incredible and the staff is super friendly. I don’t normally dine in but the dining areas are clean and well maintained.

It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas! “This is the place you want to go for when you want to authentic Vietnamese food. We got the Grilled Lemon Grass Beef Banh Mi and man that sandwich didn't have the right to be THAT GOOD. Everything was delicious, from the the warm and crispy Baguette, to the perfect beef, the correct toppings and man the ratios were so so good!
We ended with a couple of coffees and the experience was completed perfectly.
Now the service was just the cherry on top! Everyone was nice and helpful and just wanted us to enjoy our quick bite. Anytime i'm anywhere near Chicago, i will be stopping by here for sure.“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

“I went to this new boba place that finally opened with my mom. There was one person working there. The drinks were awesome and the lady was nice! The only problem is that there is no pricing on the menu, and we ordered 3 drinks that ended up almost $30. Really expensive. This place isn’t an every day stop and go, but a nice treat once in a while. Would recommend!“
