“Very good mexican food, great flavors. This place is a level above your normal mexican restaurant. I had the pork tacos and the meat comes off a rotating spit with a pineapple on top. Meat was nicely browned and so was the pineapple. The salsas have great flavor.The tres Leche cake is delicious and made on-site. Staff is great. Nice family owned place. I also stop on for breakfast items also. Will be back again.“

From them going out of their way purchasing ballons and banners to her complimentary frozen ice cream the service, food and drinks were phenomenal. Very warm and welcoming staff. Very appreciative of your business and fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for this memory. Never felt rushed. Everyone in our family raved on how great it was and was one of our best parties ever. Familiar with their other restaurant in McHenry which is also excellent and reasonably priced. You have to try this place if you like mexican food. A+++“

“Highly recommend Mari's restaurant. The food and service at Mari's restaurant was excellent. Such an extensive menu! My family all ordered different things (zopes, flautas, a beef stew, pupusas and more). And we even had some delicious desserts including fried ice cream. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing. The owner's whole family works there and you can tell that they put their heart into the business. I would highly recommend giving them a try.“

“Had the Steak Burrito. The presentation, size and taste were what I expected. They had the good hot type / red sauce which some other places don't have. However it seemed as if the lettuce and tomato overpowered the steak/ beans & cheese? Not quite sure but something was off with the lettuce ? It did seem to be the typical shredded lettuce I've had in other burrito's?“

“It's hard to find Mexican restaurants to get absolutely everything right, this is the one. Rice and beans were great, Pollo a la Mexicana was the perfect amount of taste and spiciness. The cheese stretches multiple feet into the air like it was real fresh cheese melted to perfection. I can't recommend this place enough. The building is very cute and the staff is super nice.“

The steak was especially impressive—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The horchata exceeded expectations and was one of the best I’ve had. The salsa was also a standout, offering great flavor without being overly spicy.

The only small downside was that the fountain drinks did not include refills. Aside from that, it was a fantastic experience, and I’d definitely come back again.“

“Stopped by on a whim and was very, very surprised. The outside is quite attractive with an outside eating area. The inside is nice and clean with plenty of seating. We ordered chips and salsa, Pollo with Mole, and the Steak Burrito Fajita. The chips are homemade (as expected) and very good. The chicken in the Pollo with Mole was super tender. The mole was rich. It came with homemade corn tortillas. The Steak Burrito is filled with fajita fillings, so steak, green and red peppers, and onions. The flour tortilla was filled and grilled giving the whole a nice smokey flavor. It was one of the very best burritos I have ever had. Look over my reviews. I have eaten a lot of burritos. They have a creamy salsa verde that is great, a very nice Roja sauce, and a hot sauce that is no joke hot. Our server was great and the whole experience was a great one. Will be back soon.“
