But what’s more important is just how humble and welcoming Dukes and his team are. I recently came back to visit from Los Angeles and my mother passed…he remembered her when I described our last visit. He was so empathetic and sincere…his energy is just a joy to be around.

“Rating this place is difficult because I love BBQ and I’ve been searching for a good one for awhile. The first time coming here (take out) was fantastic. Plenty of food, good prices, good service, and delicious food. The second time (dine -in) following a few months was not the same. Food was not all that tasty and Mac & cheese is always spicy regardless requesting without spice. It just didn’t hit the same. I do enjoy this place and want to visit a third but unsure if it’ll be like loving my first visit or settling like my second visit. Regardless, I still believe this might be one of the best BBQ place in the suburbs, which coming from is says a lot. I have had plenty of ribs from plenty of places!“

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES!
