“wish there was a maybe recomemd button.. Same teen boy every time we visit, and unfortunately, the same issue each time. Our first visit, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and received a BLT. On the second visit, I specifically ordered a bacon cheeseburger plain — only bacon and cheese — but by my third bite, it was full of ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Today was our third visit, and I ordered two chili dogs with no cheese (I even repeated it twice). Yet both came out covered in cheese. This could be serious if someone was not able to have something or allergic. The first time, I thought maybe he was new. The second time, I was having a rough day and tried to laugh it off. But this time, we were on a time crunch, and having to wait for the order to be remade was really frustrating. I truly don’t like to complain because the food itself is great — the strawberry milkshakes and ice cream are amazing, and the rest of the menu is usually really good. But the service has been consistently poor every time we’ve come. It’s hard to believe ours is the only order that’s been rung up wrong. Either this young man needs more training, shouldn’t be on the register, or maybe just isn’t a good fit for that position. We’ve never been offered a refund, a remake without the wait, or even an apology — and that’s disappointing for an otherwise great place.“

The Service is where this Dairy Queen shines.
I LOVE that when I walk in with a smile, I am greeted with one from each of the 3 regular staff in return. I can tell they recognize me and welcome me as a return customer and that makes a difference. It just makes my day better.
Atmosphere: The building is wonky - food on one side, ice cream on the other. This is no complaint against the current owners. The building was built looong before they owned it and would be excessively expensive to revamp - so they make it work. 😁👍
Side note to be aware: Some people may be a bit frustrated with the language barrier, but this is no problem if you speak clearly, have patience, and basic human kindness. If you have hearing issues or trouble with speech, I would suggest ordering inside, as it is easier to communicate in person. Speaking from experience working fast food in the past - the headsets aren't always clear so it can be difficult to get orders correct without a language barrier - especially if your vehicle is loud or there is a lot of outside noise. I prefer to order inside or on the app. If you can't be patient, go elsewhere - the workers here don't deserve any disrespect.
Food: Of course, the food is great! I have never had a bad order. Your typical DQ comfort food.
Having a bad day? - ice cream makes it better.
Having a good day? - celebrate with ice cream.
Can't keep your eyes open at work? - I recommend a mocha moolatte for that punch of caffeine to get you through the work day.
Didn't pack your lunch & you're nearly broke? - the 2 for $5 deal is a win! Cheeseburger & Pretzel Sticks are my favorite!
Conclusion: Thank you for keeping me from being hangry at work. You all are so dedicated to providing your regular customers with excellent service. I appreciate that you took over this DQ and kept it going in Gillespie. Keep smiling! 😁 Happy tastes good!“

“I've only had a cold treat from here as far as something for myself, it's the strawberry version of the peanut buster parfait, if you've never had one you might like it , the staff and atmosphere was great when I've been there, very nice place, good location to, thanks for the great treats and experience 🙂“
