“Although I hear they have good smashburgers had a taste for wings. It's rare to find places that will give you the whole wing. Only downside, I wish they were a little bigger and on the online menu it pictured it came with coleslaw. It did come with fries that were nice and crispy. Overall, the meal was good and hot by the time I made it back home.“

“At first, it was a little tricky to find parking, but once I got a spot, it was worth the trip since the burger and fries were very fresh and delicious! It's great that they have an eating area so you can enjoy your food while it's warm.“

“The burger was excellent — very filling, with a thick patty, almost like a mini steak. The fries were ordinary, nothing special, and the wings were good but standard. A nice bonus was the cookie they added to the meal for free. Overall, really tasty and worth trying!“

“Don's. If you've ever had Waffle House, this is the closest I've found to it in Chi. Great food, great service. It's a bit tight, they only have about 12-15 barstool seats, but it's never been an issue, never had to wait.

“As with most Metropolitan cities the Greeks came first, then the Italians and both lay claims to major influence in any cities cuisine, but being a true cold weather town there is a heartiness that is usually indicated by cheese on everything, they stay true to the first gen flavor roots and go with portions over empty calories.
It's one of the best places to get top tier cultural flavors. The location is perfectly central, approachable, but authenticly local. Decor is as you'd think a beef shop in Chicago to be, service is a little more on the cheerful side due to the Greek influence. Prices are on par with dining in the area for quality Chicago.
My go to order is the Italian Combo with a gyro platter to snack on the sliced meat and fries. My 2nd fav order is the Big Daddy burger (tsaiziki and bbq on the side) and a Maxwell Street Polish giving you a bit of everything Chicago. Usually places evolve to the changing wants of the neighborhood, but they sell Greek and Italian equally well.
They have always done beef tallow, and it's a shame they have to mention it becuase the rest of the world went away from that when they didn't. Great fries, and a good amount per order. I have yet to try the salads, but it's hard to wow people with them when it doesn't say Salad's in the name...
The beef is tender (gyro, roast beef, burger), well seasoned, rendered. The breads are toothsome, soft, crunchy, chewy. The sauces and condiments are crunchy, smooth, blended and balanced.
The pizza puff is another far less known Chicago staple for the picky eaters, they also have chicken tenders for the kids.
All in all it's a 1st rate stop off for all things Beef and all things Chicago.“

“Amazing place! We got there a little earlier than our reservation and the they were able to accommodate us seat us right away. We had Angela as our server and it was one of the best services we've received. She was knowledgeable and attentive. Food didn't take too long to get to the table. Ambiance was great! Steak was the most important one obviously and it was cooked to perfection. We had the ribeye and the fillet. The Brussels sprouts were THE best I've ever had. Drinks were good with unique cocktail options. I had a small complaint about the oysters and they more than made up for it. We tried a few desserts. Panacotta was my favorite. We will be back.“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

“New to the neighborhood, I was excited to try this place, and MAN OH MAN. It was so good. Classic comfort with a delicious twist. We got the Tahini Ranch Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Kefta Burger, and the Stuffed Falafel; not a dud in the bunch. The toppings and condiments that some on the burger and sandwich made basic diner food such a delight without feeling over the top. The real stand out was the stuffed falafel. I never thought of having a filling in a falafel, and the sweetness of the caramelized onions was such a delicious complexity to a classic Middle Eastern dish. Now I want to eat through the whole menu to find my favorites.“

“I went here to celebrate a birthday and I absolutely loved it. I got the chicken sandwich and my partner got the 8am burger with fries. They give you a mountain of fries. Both sandwiches were big and left me feeling full. The chicken is fried like a fish and I love the breading. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for varieties of burgers and a pretty chill restaurant environment. Parking was easy to find (street parking) and they have some games in the back while you wait for your food which is nice.“

“The 25 minute walk in the bitter cold was totally worth it. This is one of the best burgers I've ever had. I found it looking for smash burgers but I wouldn't call this a smash burger per se as you don't get those crispy flattened-out edges. What you do get is a perfectly balanced classic diner style burger but somehow elevated. I recommend ordering it as-is. They've put some thought into how the elements (high quality beef, pickles, 'tamed' jalepenos, secret sauce) work together and it was all I could do not to order a second one.“

“The food is excellent. The Italian Beef is The best italian beef I've had. The meat was well seasoned, well proportioned and not dry. The bread was also really good. The polish was also excellent.
