“This was my first time going to a Steak ‘n Shake. I really was impressed by the ordering method if doing it on the screen inside. The inside of the restaurant is nicely clean. The old fashion theme is really nice too. I got the triple steak burger. Dyammm, It fills you up! If you want to easy a lot, go here! The fries were also good but the cheese on top could have been a bit hotter. Overall, not a bad place to stop by, or even before you go to the movies!“

“I have been going to this place for over forty years and they still have one consistent problem that never gets solved. They short me items in the drive through. It doesn't happen with the dine-in and the food is always hot and fresh. I just wish they would teach the workers to count burgers and fries when they put them in the bag for takeout.“

“First time, we went for a late lunch. Our server was very friendly. Food was good. I got a side salad and after having been burned with brown lettuce, I was very happy that the lettuce was fresh. “My good friend Maureen threw a party here for her granddaughter’s 9th birthday a few weeks ago and the owner/manager Selena went above and beyond to make her day special! She set up tables and extra crowns. There was Halloween coloring sheets for the kids and she made ordering meals and getting drinks for a party of 13 easy!“

“I have updated my review to 5 stars because they are one of the few fast food restaurants that has a good tasting gluten free hamburger bun.

Dietary restrictions: Though they have gluten free buns, they do not have designated gluten free cooking stations. I am not hypersensitive to gluten so I can eat their burgers and grilled chicken without adverse reactions.“

Got the cheesy beef with peppers. Loved the melted cheese but the spiciness robbed from the flavor of the Sammy. I would get the same order next time, but pass on the peppers.

“My family of six ate at Culvers in McHenry on Tuesday, Dec 31 about 1:30. We were greeted with a pleasant hello. The lady who took our order got it right and was pleasant.Since were a group of 6, I figured it would take a little longer to get our order. That wasn't the case. Not only did the order come quickly, but is also accurate. That was wonderful! When we were nearing the end of our meal, a gentleman, (Jude, I believe) can around with free samples of the flavor of the day (Mint explosion). Never has that happened at Colvers to me in the many times I eat at different Culvers! What a nice touch! Upon leaving, we got a cheery Thank you, have a great day and happy new year. I wish I lived a little closer because Culvers in McHenry would definitely be my go to place. Thank you for good food and the kindness you all showed.“

“I ordered catering from Eggville Cafe a friend of mine said their catering was amazing and I had a family gathering coming up I had to try it out! Everything was perfectly cooked they had so many different options to choose from I ordered the kebabs and a side salad, some potatoes some meatballs and a couple other things that they threw in everything tasted amazing. It was delicious and was reasonably priced if you were looking for catering for any event like a graduation coming up or birthday or family gatherings I definitely highly recommend them they were amazing and they got everything I wanted and more!!“

“Starting out the experience with Emma, our hostess, she was amazing! Very personable, asked us how our day was and was very friendly. Our waitress, Hannah, was amazing as well. She seemed very busy but still was very attentive and friendly. She also went above and beyond for my gluten allergy when I told her about it! Every worker I saw was hustling, the restaurant was pretty packed but the crew seemed to have it handled. Good job crew!

What was even more exciting was what I decided to order off the menu... A sloppy joe sandwich and waffle fries! Where else can you order THAT in a drive thru??? Not only that, but the sloppy joe was sooooooo good. Big ol' pieces of onions and green peppers. Seriously well made. Not just loose meat on a bun. One asked If I could have gotten it rare was told menu says medium well. Meat was of a quality as if it was cooked earlier this week. Definitely will not be going back for hamburgers. Was told by the waitress No one will ask you how you want it done it says on the menu. We used to consider it best burger in town.“

“I am absolutely AMAZED with the service I received! The staff was so friendly! They all came up to greet me and talked to me like I was a part of the family. The manager was so accommodating to my dietary requests. Usually, at other places, I am met with an eye roll and a sigh. NOT HERE! She listened to my concerns and responded with such tenderness! Every one of them deserves a raise! I will be driving way out of my way to only come to this location from now on! WOW!

I went to dairy queen in Algonquin off main Street and the girl working the register helped me figure it out. She was so warm and welcoming and friendly and really made the experience great!“

“Ive been going to location for the past 5 years. There was a bad period right after Covid and through a couple years. But the last year or so has been great. My orders have always been correct and the people working there are polite and helpful. Two thumbs up!“

“Great food 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, burgers are burnt to hell and charred. Things have been improving recently though despite more teenagers being added to the workforce which is a good thing to see.
