“Been here a handful of times ..
The pizza is th Star !!
Last few times the food was not as on par with the first 3-4 times.
Staff was slow and food was slow.
The first few times i went was when they first opened.
Seems service went down a bit!“

“My husband and I stopped at the Salerno's location after picking up some bakery at Kirschbaums! I grew up eating pizza from the Berwyn location(which moved to Oak Park). Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered the largest pizza, so we could have leftovers too! Was delicious, as all Salerno's pizza!“

“I like this place, but the food quality has been slipping. Order a medium Sauage and garlic pan pizza, and the taste seemed off. Usually, the pizza is very good.

Parking: This is a takeout place, so no dinning in. They are located in a strip mall with large parking lot.“

“OUTSTANDING gluten free pizza. Truly the best gluten free pizza in all the land. We ordered the gluten free spinach, artichoke & ricotta white pizza for dinner last night and it was amazingly delicious. Ingredients and crust were so fresh and so flavorful. Top notch service as well. This is my new favorite spot for gluten free pizza; and a wonderful, local business to support. “By far the best Italian place for breakfast,lunch and dinner !! The atmosphere here is the best from the cashiers to whoever serves you your food ! Ann Marie was the sweetest I came when I was 8 months pregnant and ate everything!! From a meatball sandwich to the chicken limón to everything else my husband ordered off the menu !! Ann Marie made me feel the best straight out of the hospital this day!! She gave me a good long list of baby names that I will appreciate forever !! “I’m no stranger when it comes to Serbian food, since I have been to one Serbian restaurant and now 3 Serbian style cafés. The location can be easily missed if you don’t look closely, but it’s between J&C Modern Way Dry Cleaners and D’Pelos Salon. When you walk in, you order at the counter. They have 5 tables that you can sit at if you choose to dine in. I decided to go with some of their traditional bakery items like burek and mantije. I also ordered prosciutto cotto calzone. The owners were very nice and helpful. One of the owners offered me a piece of mantije to sample. Prices were extremely reasonable, they definitely give you a generous amount of food for your money.

-burek (meat) 5 - they have 3 different kinds, meat, cheese, and pizza. It had a flaky crust and the meat was very tender. If you have this for breakfast, it is filling but it’s good if you’re in a hurry.
-mantije (meat) 5 - kind of a miniature version of a burek but bite size. Crust is crunchy with a plentiful amount of meat in each piece. This was one portion.
-prosciutto cotto calzone 5 - you will have to be patient because it does take a little awhile to prepare and cook. I loved the big pieces of prosciutto and I like how the pesto just oozes out with each bite. The crust has a tasty, cheesy taste from the mozzarella.“

A burger joint in a strip mall doesn’t inspire confidence, but you walk into this cozy place, with attractive wall murals, and somehow you get the feeling that you’re in the right place. We were in a rush, so came here for a quick lunch - ordered the following: double cheeseburgers, peri peri burgers, veggie samosa burger (off menu) and mango habañero wings….and EVERYTHING was fantastic!!! The double cheeseburgers were juicy, and succulent, the peri peri grilled chicken burger was tender and saucy, the wings were absolutely delicious, crisp despite the mango habañeeo sauce which had the perfect level of sweet heat. Lastly, the veggie burger - so the menu has FANTASTIC samosas, so when we asked if they had a veggie burger, they told us they can prepare a delicious burger using their veggie samosa. Imagine our skepticism, and then our utter shock, when it turned out to be the most delicious spicy, saucy samosa burger we have ever sunk our teeth in! Overall, an excellent experience, but with all the personnel exuding immense warmth and gracious hospitality. Definitely coming here OVER and OVER again!!! Yum!“

Third , I hate dining in this place . The guy keeps checking to see if we didn’t make the tables or floor messy. No kind of professionalism. We do not eat free . My first time here... Very nice and patient when ordering over the phone.
The atmosphere is nostalgic, old pictures, old cash register, old ovens, don't change what's not broken, it works and loved it.
Awesome to walk back into time, again old school neighborhood joint..
As far as the pizza, good, I have had different and do not want to say better because this review is to acknowledge a good solid old school place.
Crust ok, ingredients fresh, cheese ( best part of the pizza ) sauce is just ok, but it works.
I will return, overall score 7.2“

“I have to say their cheesbuger is Awesome, it was very juicy and cheesy. I asked to put Lettuce and tomatoes on mine and leave off the mayo just bc I do not like digorn. I love that it came with a side for the same price, not charged separately. I almost think it might be better than 5 Guys!!! My boyfriend ordered the Cheesy Steak, it was like an Italian beef but with a cheese sauce on it. I didn't get a chance to try it but he said it was delicious! This was the first time we ordered something other than a pizza, and their pizzas are Awesome also. I definitely recommend the Portage Park location. I have not been to the others!“
