“We dined at Plateia for the first time tonight. The food is absolutely fantastic. We had the feta and honey appetizer along with tzatziki and fresh warm pita. For our main course, I had the yogurt chicken and oven potatoes which were delicious. My husband had the pastitcio which he enjoyed. Service was great, too! By the way, while waiting did our table, we observed a screaming woman who was upset that she had not been seated yet. She was incredibly rude to the hostesses and left in a huff. She threatened to leave nasty reviews on Yelp, calling the restaurant "trash". Make no mistake... she was the trashy one. If she leaves a review here, ignore it!“
“I've worked in Morton Grove for 26 years and we have patronized this location often and have always found the food to be consistently great and the service to be Timely and I'm actually on my way there this now! “Skirt steak sandwich was pricey but a big portion and well worth the price since it came with fries and a salad. Counter staff was friendly, and the tables were clean. My friend had the gyro plate and it too was a large portion and a decent value. Don't let some of the prices deter you, it's good food, made fresh, and the portions are big. I would not hesitate to go back.“

“Been a customer since 1978 when it opened. There have been a few changes in ownership over the last 10 years, but the food quality has come back to an excellent level again. Love the gyros. The meat, the bread and how it’s cooked, and the sauce are amazing. But their gyros are not the only food they serve. Make a trip . It’s worth it.“

I recommend the Yemista (stuffed peppers and tomatoes filled with beef and rice) served with Greek potatoes and veggies. Other family members had the Dolmades, Pastitsio, and Makaronada, all of which were mouth watering and done right! Avgolemono was glorious, and the Saganaki was awesome, spot on-not dry or too salty. “The place isn't too big, they have some pretty good Gyros, their fried options are average. Client service is good never average and below, I called to make an order for a pick up and they were generous with the time saying it'll be ready in 18 minutes but by the feel of the food and how warm it was I say they only needed 10 to 12 minutes to get my order ready to go.Their Gyro isn't crispy or dry like some places, its even slightly juicy. This is the place I buy my gyros at when I get the craving, there's rarely anything better.“

Top 5 Gyros and Chicken Gyros spots in the Chicagoland suburban area in my opinion. Ordered their Chicken Gyros sandwich as well as a side of Oven-baked Greek Potatoes (pictured here). So much gyros meat and the potatoes are perfectly baked and soaked in broth. Not going to wait years for my next visit.“

“The restaurant outdoor/indoor is very elegant! Went to celebrate my mothers birthday, it was our first time here and the service was fantastic. Our server was very polite and kind, I don’t recall her name but even the other servers offered to take pictures of us. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. “I went to this restaurant with family on 11/13 2023. We got outdoor seating and they were able to put tables together and seat us very fast. The service always had smiles on their faces and were all around very pleasant. The view was amazing, right next to the water. There was a bit of a wait for the food (which is expected for the large group we had) but they had live music and just such a great atmosphere. The food was 10/10 meeting and beating all of our expectations. Some dishes were a little pricey but not bad for the amount of food we were given and for the quality of food it was.“
