Growing up in nearby Northfield, the Dairy Queen on Lake Avenue was one of those wonderfully simple places that felt like part of the fabric of childhood. The Blizzards are delicious, but what I love most now is the nostalgia: summer evenings, familiar surroundings, and the uncomplicated thrill of getting ice cream. Decades later, it still brings me right back, and I’m grateful it’s still there.
This was an exquisite dining experience. I had a small vanilla cone. I chose to add chocolate sprinkles. I found the vanilla flavor fresh and natural tasting. The sprinkles burst with chocolate flavor. Paired with the vanilla these morsels made for the perfect balance of sweet and sweeter.. Thank you Dairy Queen for everything you do.

However, getting in and out of the restaurant can be tricky due to limited parking, which accommodates only about 8 cars. It is best to walk and enjoy the area, especially since it is close to a busy road. The restaurant remains open until the day before Thanksgiving, and the Blizzard flavors change throughout the year.
