“We've been dining at Convito for years, and this dinner ranks among the best! Our server, Pedro, was terrific: attentive, responsive, personable. The food was great: my wife had gazpacho and chicken paillard, both of which were terrific. I started with escargots which were excellent and then loved my entree of fettuccine quatro formaggi. This was not the typical Alfredo sauce, but a lighter one with Prosciutto and mushrooms. It was incredible! One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. We ended the dinner sharing a wonderful carrot cake with butter pecan ice cream. A memorable Labor Day weekend dinner!“

Parking: Somewhat difficult depending on time. The free parking lot doesn't have a lot of space.“

“Back in 2012....we went to our beloved Hotcakes. The most happenin' thing was homemade tamale corn cakes. They were made with frozen corn, black beans, cumin..... topped with melted cheddar cheese. And they were served with salsa and sour cream. I looked forward to my weekly treat of utter deliciousness...with passionate desire. My husband had a bunch of favs.It was just a tiny place owned by a wonderful lady. Does anyone remember these?

“pretty decent food. It's cash only and I wasn't given a receipt but I didn't ask for it and I saw that he shortchanged me two cents which just for the principal of the thing kind of insulted me so I didn't tip (I usually tip 30 to 50%) I'm not sure about the whole tipping thing if you're placing your own order at a register but they did bring the food to us and were very polite. They provided green and red hot sauces for us, EXCELLENT. My girlfriend cooks Hispanic food and is an expert on it and she loved the tacos. I got a beef burrito which was giant and perfectly cylindrical. That was kind of cool! Price was right especially for Wilmette. very happy and will be back likely often unless Kamala wins the election then we'll be cooking at home forever cuz we won't be able to afford it. It's all economics. The prices are very fair at this place. I was kind of looking for a nice little place we could frequent in the area and I think this might be it. They had fresh horchata. I don't like any horchata but my family loved it.
huge beef burrito with everything, 3 steak tacos with cilantro, 2 horchatas and a Mexican Coke in the bottle was about $35.
I saw they had desserts and many other things but we just wanted to try this place even though we had already eaten. Will change my review when we have other things on the menu.“

“Best pizza in Chicago! This spots pizza with the sauce on top is excellent. The gluten free pizza is also very good and I found it to be of an equal level to the gluten pizza. If you don't want a crust filled experience, their thin crust is also quite good. Highly recommend!“
