“Wanted to love it more. Lots of rapport between staff and patrons so it’s clearly a real local regulars place. Tables are packed in tightly. Felt like I was in the space of the couple behind us especially when I stood up.Beef bourguignon was very pretty but underseasoned. No detectable red wine taste to the sauce or meat. Beet salad was declared “fine.” We started with the spring rolls which were good and the potstickers .. good except the sauce with ketchup and sweet chili notes was a bit overpowering. All the appetizers on the menu were Asian except focaccia and soup. Desserts were enjoyed. Cocktails were good.Funny to see menu highlights in google maps include tiramisu, scallops, and hangar steak, none of which were on offer during our visit.“
“What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said or known to be true. Little bad wolf has the best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. I don't know what they do but it's liquid crack in those noodles and I just can't get enough of it.The burgers there are also top five in Chicago. Definitely try the bao buns and the tacos as well as they have tons of flavor and they never disappoint. One of my favorite appetizers is the elotes which is absolutely amazing.I love this place I just wish it was closer to me and they took reservations but I'll keep coming back as long as they got the liquid cheddar crack.“
“From its eclectic cocktail menu to its welcoming atmosphere, this establishment offers a wonderful experience. Each drink is a work of art, expertly crafted with unique ingredients and thoughtful combinations. With its inventive cocktails, inviting atmosphere, and commitment to inclusivity, it's no wonder this establishment has become a beloved spot in the area.“
“The food was delicious, my husband loved the burritos and the slaw. Also, I don't know the name of the person who served us today. But there were quite a few people and he was alone, with one person in the kitchen, he still kindly served us all, thank you very much for that.“
“Absolutely divine craft cocktails made by some of the best bartenders in the city (Violet hour / Mother's Ruin alumni). Come in on a slow night, get to know the bartenders, let them take you on an experimental experience and you won't be disappointed. The vibe is both chill and elevated, creating an experience you won't forget; whether you're seated at the bar solo or in a plush couch with your favorite person.“
“"I had a wonderful dining experience at Everett Farm Food! The food was amazing, with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The service was excellent, with fast and attentive waitstaff. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal!"“
“The coolest bar in Rogers Park! They have a small but fun cocktail selection, great beer & cider selection, super super friendly staff and the best vibes. They have no food but you are allowed to bring any takeout you want or you can directly order to your table from any restaurant you want. Such chill vibes honestly. We were here as a huge group last week for our friends birthday party (about 40 of us) and our waiter has been a saint with taking sssoooo many orders and hand delivering them to the correct person, and with the most fun attitude too! It honestly doesn’t get better than this.“
“If I could give more stars, I would! I have not only visited their establishment, but have also utilized their catering/event services. Service has always been amazing, the food is very delicious, and Carissa and Judy are so responsive and helpful! If you're looking for event catering services reach out to this awesome team! You will be in the best hands.“
“Original cocktails in an original setting. Very good service, very good drinks that you won't find everywhere (their own touch on the classics too), good ingredients and bottles behind the bar. Pick your atmosphere: you can sit a the counter where it's more like a speakeasy, or at a table in the bustling bar, or in the lobby area of the apartment building where it's more like a quieter lounge. My favorite bar in uptown.“
“My husband and I were in Chicago for a convention a couple of weeks ago. While I was getting ready for the day he was watching the news and says to me "we need to try this place". As y'all know from my other reviews he is a pizza perfectionist :) On the morning spotlight segment was this place called Whiskey Girl Tavern and they were talking how they are known for their hot honey pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders (which sell out).We didn't get to go to it that day and the next day we kept debating between that one and Robert's pizza which had been recommended. Well he couldn't get the image of their pizza out of his mind, so we hopped in a Uber and took the 25min ride to check it out.We sat at the best seat in the house ... the corner bar where we had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the best bar manager, Phil!! I ordered the Spill That Spicy T Margarita made with their homemade pineapple, jalapeño mix. It was the perfect balance.. of heat, sweetness (I don't do sweet) perfect touch of smoke from the mezcal and finished with a tahini rim ... omg I can't stop thinking about it!!!! To start we ordered the fried pickles which were the perfect size and lightly breaded .. delicious .Now the main event .. the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza. Let's talk about the crust which in our opinion will make or break a pizza. We love thin crust with a nice char , not burnt which is a fine line. We needed to be in that small 2 person kitchen at the end of the bar to see how on God's green earth they have perfected this pizza crust!! And who doesn't love cupped pepperonis? I personally feel these should be on every pepperoni pizza instead of those big greasy ones. I just can't say enough about how delicious this was!!!While talking to Phil my husband tells him how we heard about it and that we took the drive to check them out. Phil tells us we have to meet and tell the owners. We met Heather and Christina who were beyond thrilled and sweet to have us there. It's a small world bcs while talking with them we find out that during Covid they didn't want to be locked down in the cold and bought a place 30/40 minutes from us !! They opened the tavern about 2 years ago and just recently purchased the old pool hall next door. They showed us around and it was so cool with an old school vibe with some brown leather couches, pool table and a nice size bar that had just opened that day.If have read this far , THANK YOU! And when in Chicago please go check them out you will not be disappointed I promise!!I am sooo glad and sad that we found this place and believe everything happens for a reason. Glad bcs it was (no joke) the best pizza I have had in a long time and sad bcs I can't stop thinking about it now that I am back home in Tampa!! lolUntil next time“
“Take Flight Spirits is a charming distillery and cocktail lounge nestled in downtown Skokie, Illinois, and I must say it's a hidden gem that has breathed new life into this once-sleepy suburban area. Atmosphere and Decor: Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by the beautifully decorated space. Take Flight Spirits exudes a unique and inviting ambiance that sets it apart from the typical downtown scene. The attention to detail in the decor creates a warm and stylish atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both intimate gatherings and lively evenings. Innovative Drink Offerings: One of the standout features at Take Flight Spirits is undoubtedly their innovative drink offerings. The menu boasts a variety of unique cocktails that cater to a diverse range of tastes. What caught my attention was the option to have cocktails smoked, adding an extra layer of flavor and sophistication to the experience. It's not just a drink; it's a crafted, multisensory experience. Passionate Owners: What truly sets Take Flight Spirits apart is the presence of the passionate owners who actively engage with their customers. It's refreshing to see the creators of this establishment sharing their enthusiasm for their craft. The owners often take the time to discuss their creations with patrons, adding a personal touch to the overall experience. This level of interaction creates a sense of community and makes each visit feel like a journey into the world of artisanal spirits. In conclusion, Take Flight Spirits is a welcome addition to downtown Skokie, bringing a touch of sophistication and innovation to the local scene. Whether you're a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a unique place to unwind, this distillery and cocktail lounge is a must-visit. It's not just a drink; it's an experience and one that I look forward to enjoying again soon.“
“I never believed my life will change in such a manner. I saw a review on Facebook about Mrs Craig Vanessa trading skills and before then I have never risk money doing anything online with anybody because I think I was so wise and never want to be cheated but when I contacted Mrs. Craig Vanessa, she explained everything to me concerning trading and the profit I can make within a week I was convinced to give a trial and risked to invest $1,000 and I made a withdrawal profit of $9,000 within a week. I am so happy that I trusted her and she didn't fail me. You can reach her through WhatsApp via her Facebook: Mrs Craig Vanessa“
“Thanks to Open Table, we made our first visit to Scotty's and we're glad we did. We were greeted warmly and well cared for by Jay and others. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the Chicken Milanese, which will be even better once tomatoes are in season and my husband loved his Walleye and Mussels (a special) and his profiteroles.“
“Ward Eight is a gem on Howard. Chef Chris pairs delicious dishes with the cocktails that the bar team magically concoctes. Simply, it's a laid-back vibe to chill and enjoy conversation with those you are with or the staff. No Tvs. No egos. Just good drinks, good tunes, delicious food and friendly faces. Don't hesitate to come and enjoy the experience.“
“The food is authentic Italian and is delicious, especially the Rigatoni Con Sugo Di Carne! You can dine in to enjoy pleasant atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. It's in the center of a strip building between other restaurants that look alike so it's kind of hard to notice. In fact, I was told about the place and I live six blocks from it and drive by it almost every day.I have not tried the pizza since the Rigatoni is so good. If you like genuine Italian food, try it. You will return!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs look like they can roll right in. It's all ground level.“
“Great cocktails. On the stronger side. Tried 3, the French Quarter (amazing aroma and strong taste reminds you of a classic cocktail with a subtle flair), Winter Rendezvous (smooth, hints of spice notes, sought alcohol bite, and smokey rounded finishes each sip, not as aromatic as the first), and the Kentucky Tiramisu (imagine a tiramisu in the firm of a drink which a small slice of tiramisu)I love the place, just wish it was cozier, moodier lighting, couches. Carpet, tapestry up to block the outside, more speakeasy vibe.“
“I came here the first time with my friends and their family. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! All of the food was delicious. The complimentary chips and salsa has the right amount a heat. I had the carne asada, and it was perfectly cooked. The margaritas aren't too sweet, which is perfect for me, because overly sweet drinks give me heartburn. I highly recommend supporting this family-owned business!“
“Visited Sojourn Restaurant for brunch in Chicago, IL, and it was a delightful experience! The smash burger I ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. They let me add a poached egg, too! The live music added a fantastic ambiance, creating a perfect Sunday morning vibe. The staff was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall positive atmosphere. Can't wait to return for another memorable meal at Sojourn!“
“Creative, high quality dishes. A bit pricey, though it lives up to the cost. The steak tartare was very flavorful. Its was quite dressed for a tartare, i.e. not meat-forward. The duck was fantastic, as was the saffron prawn gnocchi. Like the flavors or not, none of the dishes were boring, ingredients were great, and the execution was beyond question. The blood and sand was perhaps the best balanced smoky scotch cocktail I’ve had. Partner’s bohemian was also very good.“
“Pleasantly surprised by this place located on Bryn Mawr between Kedzie and Kimball. The initial impression was that the prices on the menu seemed a bit high given its location. And some dishes like hummus plate, which consisted of cut up carrots and cucumber with pita bread and a large spoonful of hummus, was not worthwhile at $14. Same goes for a bowl of Irish cabbage soup for $10. Having said, other items like chicken wings and burgers were quite delicious and were worth paying little more for them. Given their great beer selection and wonderful cocktails, it is worth a visit.“
“This pizza pie is so very delicious. Imagine good dough rolled out thin topped by tangy sauce and thin coating of cheese with flavorful Italian sausage in hand formed balls. I haven’t been excited by a pizzeria near me for quite some time. Did I mention chewy crust. I also tried their deep fried cauliflower with garlic Ali oil. Golden crisp heads of cauliflower served with your choice of sauce. My next adventure I will try the Cesar salad and another flavor of pizza ... can’t wait. Love me some Logan Square pizza..“
“The food was delicious. I had the rack of ribs and they were great. The jalapeño cheese sauce was a really good dip for the fries. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. The service was great. Our server Colleen did an amazing job accommodating our needs in such a busy establishment. The atmosphere was fun. They had trivia night while we were there and you could tell it was a pretty big deal amongst the locals. The guy running the trivia was a star! His personality is great for it. This is definitely a place where the local people go which made it even better. We were even blessed with a Will Perdue citing. He is in one of the pics sitting with his family. It doesn’t get much more Chicago than that. Go Bulls! I would definitely come back to City’s Edge!“
“This is a rare find, it’s so delicious and warm atmosphere and fun. We’ve been coming for years, they are a bit off the beaten path of Andersonville, we discovered it when lived in Uptown. When we moved away we missed so every so often we travel up to an hour to eat there.“
“Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“
“Went there with a group of friends last night. The place was so cute & cozy. While there are a lot of entrees to choose from we just ordered a bunch of appetizers & cocktails. Food was delicious & service was excellent. Great for a date night, girls night or just hanging with friends. It also has a very nice bar to just stop in for a cocktail. Check it out!“
“I am writing this review from a personal and professional standpoint, as I have hosted a few work events at 28-Mile over the past year, and recently had my son's Bar Mitzvah party there. As a former event planner, and someone who plans numerous events for my job, I can honestly say that I have never encountered a more professional and accommodating staff. From the ownership, to the management, to the bar & waitstaff, and I have to mention the woman who tirelessly maintains the cleanliness of the venue, each and every one of them go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly for your event. Both of the recent events I hosted had elaborate set-ups, and the entire staff (even the owner!) helped make sure the space looked the best it possibly could. From my initial meetings with Mike the manager, to the walk thru/layout details of the space, and menu discussions, Mike gave me his undivided attention and great suggestions as to what would work best. He promptly answered any questions I had, and leading up to my events he could not have been more responsive, flexible and accommodating. This is not a venue that just wants your money, they truly care about their customers and strive to make sure that from start to finish everything goes well. From the laborious set-up to breakdown for both of my events they could not have been more helpful! We also got so many compliments on the food from our guests, their pizza is definitely some of the best on the North Shore! The bar staff is amazing and so efficient. Not only do they make awesome cocktails (their butterscotch bourbon was a crowd favorite), you also feel their genuine commitment to making sure that the event is a success. No matter what my request was of the management, or the bar or waitstaff, they made it happen with a smile on their faces. If a scenario is possible, they will do whatever they can to make your vision come to life.If you are considering having an event at 28-Mile do not hesitate, I promise you will not be disappointed. I am already thinking about other events I can plan there, especially when the weather gets warm so I can utilize their roof & patio. I could not possibly be more grateful to everyone at 28-Mile for helping to make my son's Bar Mitzvah party a night we will never forget!!!“
“I can't believe I never tried Torino until now! We live walking distance and I placed an order for pickup. Wow, the freshness and quality of the food was fantastic. Loved my tuna avocado roll! The space is warm and inviting and it looks like a nice bar, too. Will definitely be back to dine in!“
“This is a cool spot in Highwood. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but everything was pretty good.I got the rueban sandwich because we were there on St Patrick's Day. It was ok. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better. The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good. The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners. The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.“
“I don't know why it took me so long to try this place but I'm so happy I finally did. This is now my go-to for delicious cocktails in Chicago. The bartenders paid attention to each drink, keeping everything well balanced. I'm craving for the Empress cocktail as I type this review.“
“Cool super small bar with good tacos and they even can accommodate gluten free celiacs like me. Cool vibe and very intimate because of the small dark space and couches. The tacos were ok. The beer selection was not numerous but still good The staff were nice.“
“Great spot to have in PR! Moving into the neighborhood from city and having something like this close by vs driving into downtown and then looking for parking is a no brainer. This place has an elegant/victorian look and a definite city vibe. You do realize your in suburbia do to most of the clientele, but, it's still a nice pop-in for a date night starter or a great location before ending the night. I did notice the place did attract 20-30 something groups, which was nice to see. Also the drinks were created with a mixologist style that almost resembled the Violet Hour Speak Easy in Wicker Park. Try to get seating in the back if you can and see this place for yourself on a Saturday evening.. Enjoy-“
“We very much enjoyed the service drinks and food. Apps we tried were Brussels sprouts broccoli (basic but garlicky good), fries. Entrees hamburgers and crispy chicken. All were very good. Apps were not hot and that was the only complaint t. Drinks were fun and we all liked our choices except pear vodka drink was too sweet.Parking: 5:30 we found a spot close.“
“This was exactly the vibe that I was looking for for a nice meal before Christmas. I’ve never been to Deer Path but I am so glad I went. The cocktails were great, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I loved the fireplace vibes too.“
“Deeee-licious!!! The short rib empanadas were flaky and flavorful. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The owner stopped by the table to complete the experience. The menu was very interesting--definitely going back.Parking: Pay parking right in front but two-hour free parking on the neighborhood streets right around the corner.“
“I got the poke and one of their signature cocktails. The salmon poke was very fresh and has a good balance of flavors. We were able to get a table with some shade. It is great to be able to eat outside on the rooftop but also feel away from the street. They have an elevator to the roof and you can have a choice of chairs with arms and without. I forgot my phone when I left and they had it waiting for me at the bar downstairs after I called. Great service! We did get there about 3pm for dinner so it wasn't crowded.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator at the back wall when you walk in on the ground floor. You will share the elevator with staff as they go to and from the kitchen to the roof top.“
“This is a great place.. they need to update the sound system..they have TouchTunes..but there is like one speaker in the corner.. asked to turn it up.. didn’t make a difference..can’t hear the music.... if they can sort the music..would be awesome.. love the staff and service!“
“This was the first time at this location!! I have been to the Avondale location before and I am very excited that the burbs get to experience this place! Upon arrival we were greeted during a busy lunch time! The food here is always delicious! I decided to go away from my normal order and get the spicy chicken tendies and they did not disappoint!“
“If you're looking for a fun and friendly place to have a drink in Jefferson Pk, this is the spot. Nestled in a quiet block on Higgins between Central and Austin District house is a nice, modern and clean place visit. They have an amazing selection of Whiskeys from all over as well as a very well stocked bar. The staff, from Maria the owner to all the bartenders make you feel like family from the get go. They also plan a ton of different events from Karaoke to Card Readers to pub crawls. If in the neighborhood, come by and say hi!“
“This is my favorite Greek restaurant in the country and one of my top 3 go-to places in the NW Chicago suburbs. The service is friendly and very attentive, and the food is beyond amazing. Do yourself a favor and order the "flaming cheese" -- a lot of it! Opa!“
“Friday nites karaoke. Noel is great with his music and he can sing. There are many great singer and the Atmosphere is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly everyone does their best to just get along. They have great Bartenders. Everyone should come on by and check this place out.“
“A friend brought me here for my birthday. It is a bit loud inside, but it is neat and clean with nice decor, lots of plants. :) the menu is all vegan, and has a variety of food styles. The appetizers are generous and good to share. While the entree portions are small, we did not leave hungry. The little dessert sampler they brought for my birthday was a perfect way to taste the sweets.Dietary restrictions: All veganKid-friendliness: Kids menu“
