“Food was amazing! I ordered the hot braised chicken, special fried rice, Chicken St Paul sandwich and the fried wontons. The wontons were nice and thick and the flavor was great! The fried rice was cooked perfectly and they were not stingy with the meat! And I've finally had a great Saint Paul sandwich in Granite! I would recommend Lam's Garden to anyone in or coming through Granite City. Especially if you're looking for a great Saint Paul or some really good fried rice.“

“Hong Kong House - How Happy I am to have you opened again! The ONLY Chinese Restaurant in the Alton area that serves REAL Chinese Veggies in their meals - NOT frozen peas, carrots, & corn. I ordered the Veggie Fried Rice - served with thinly sliced carrots, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, baby corn, and bamboo shoots just to name a few. We also had Hunan Chicken Combo Plate with Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon - Yummy. Again lots or real fresh veggies without being over loaded with huge chunks of onion. Love Love Love the food here“

“We were in the mood for Chinese, so we stopped in. Is it pinky out, fancy Chinese? Not even close. It's gotta have it, greasy Chinese. Please don't take that the wrong way. Sometimes you just need some old school Chinese, and they got that. The portions were huge, and the cost wasn't terrible. The highlight, for me, were the fried wontons. The beef and broccoli was flavorful, and the broccoli still had the crunch (no one likes soggy broccoli). The crab rangoon were the sweet style, not my favorite, but decent enough. You KNOW it’s good when people are willing to wait — there were literally people standing outside waiting for orders. I highly suggest calling ahead and giving them at least 30 minutes before you head over.

The kitchen was pure controlled chaos. There was a young Asian lady running the phones at lightning speed while loudly yelling instructions across the kitchen to an older Asian man. Every once in a while he’d yell something back while flipping woks around with flames shooting up everywhere like a cooking show under pressure. It looked stressful… but also kind of impressive. 😂

The food itself was absolutely delicious. We took ours to-go and had a full spread for 3 people for around $36, with plenty of leftovers afterward. Great portions for the price.

I’d definitely recommend getting it to-go though. The food is worth it — hanging around inside for the dining experience… maybe not so much.“

I have some of my best memories here from both childhood with family and friendships with friends I grew up on Ellen Wood and Ridgewood so ya. Even through some of my hardest times this place has just been home for me, all the staff and family knows me and my hubby we always go here plus they have known me over 25 years the nail salon also since I was a kid. Seriously the best in Missouri period hell I've traveled so many states and canada and this is my number one, seriously recommend to anyone god bless this amazing family love y'all thank you for being a huge part of my life and so many others hugs..
