“I used to come here every weekend to have drinks and enjoy the live band music. Now, their drinks are too expensive for my taste and they replaced the live music with DJs, so I rarely go now. Not that I dislike DJs, but the live music is what set it apart from other bars in the area. The atmosphere doesn't suit DJs as well as it did the live bands. If they're going to stick with DJs, it would be better if the bar was more separated from the main casino floor (like the High Roller room is). I've also eaten at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious. I opted for the king crab both times.”

“The staff is nice and friendly. The food is VERY good!!! I was a student at IUN many years ago and the food in the cafe did not taste as good as it does now. Maybe they have a different management/owner. It is pricey but food costs have gone up and they are paying to rent the facility and pay their employees so it is to be expected. It is a very convenient asset on the campus. I will definitely frequent this establishment.

“This place has a good variety, wonderful staff, and the Food is decent ! . The desserts are good. Gelato tastes amazing. They had fried ravioli, bread pudding, brisket, ribeyes cooked to order, came on a Saturday evening . They had Cajun ettoufeè with shrimp, chicken ,and sausage. Fried shrimp tasteless, just tastes like oil. I didn’t try the Mexican inspired station , but it looked to have fajitas and all the toppings. Spring rolls not good. Marinara sauce was good.”

I ordered through Uber Eats and their packaging was even TOPNOTCH! Nothing leaked, everything was in a separate container & placed within a plastic bag that was then placed inside a large tote like brown paper bag that contained my ENTIRE ORDER! #Impressed 🙌🏿💪🏿💃🏿

“I have been to this location a couple times the first time everything was right at expectations for Beggars Pizza. However when I visited 10/31/2024 it wasn't the best experience I pre-ordered a deep dish and boneless wings for 645pm. With this pre-order it gave the establishment over an hour to prepare my food. When I arrived my order was still not ready and I was given an ETA of 15 minutes this was kind of annoying but I understood it was Halloween and they did seem pretty busy. When I first arrived there was a small box up on the heater and the lady working the desk when asking the kitchen about my order only inquired about the pizza. I was so worried that my wings were already prepared in that small box and that the quality would be terrible. I was hoping they would do the right thing and re make them but they didn't and those were my wings and they were in fact not good. The lady at the front desk seemed overwhelmed and even though my order was sitting ready in the window when I returned she disappeared to the back area making me wait longer for the order I placed at this point about an hour and 40 mins for. She just needed to man her position and get the orders out that she did already have in the hot window. That was pretty annoying but overall I would go back just for the pizza because that wasn't bad I just would have liked the kitchen timing to be better so all parts of my order came out hot and fresh.”

“I’m not sure why the ratings are so low, probably because it’s in the casino and casinos attract not so nice people.

Anyways I absolutely love this place, I’m very picky when it comes to Asian food as it’s my favorite “genre” of food and this spot has never disappointed me.

My personal favorite is the duck noodle soup, and my fiancé loves their beef fried rice.

The spicy pork dumplings are also very good.

I haven’t had anything here that I didn’t like though.”

“We were a group of 9; 6 adults & 3 children looking for a more sit-down place to eat when the owner talked us into staying telling us we would not be disappointed, and we were not. Their menu had a huge variety of food to choose from, and all of us thought the food was great! I had French toast, hash browns & sausage. My husband had an awesome shrimp omlette that had more shrimp on it than anywhere else we have ever eaten that put shrimp in its breakfast. And even thought it was all packagesd as take out, there were three tables available to sit and eat. It worked for us! Great job S&G! It's a well-earned 5 star review!”

“I ordered the steak torta on my first visit and it was incredible fresh bread, tender steak, and a really balanced flavor all the way through. I went back the next week for the steak tacos, and they were just as impressive. The corn tortillas were cooked perfectly with that light crisp you want, and the steak was seasoned just right.

The red sauce has a good kick, so if you’re sensitive to heat you’ll feel it, but the flavor makes it totally worth it. Service was quick, prices were fair, and the food has been consistently excellent. I’ll definitely be going back to try more of the menu.”

“My experience at Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was an abundance of spontaneous joy. My husband was driving south on Broadway when he noticed decorations outside. We both agreed to visit for the purpose of supporting a business in our hometown. When we arrived I was immediately impressed with the kind person waiting to hold the door open as we entered. Then as I looked around inside the restaurant there were beautiful murals adorning the walls. My husband placed our order and I went to the dining area. As each person arrived it seemed like a family get together at a favorite relatives’ house. One of my former students came to the restaurant and I got to meet her daughter, “The Birthday Queen” for the first time. Paige and Charlie’s served as the perfect location for the Birthday Queen to enjoy her birthday breakfast! When our food arrived, it was truly a meal made for royalty. I ordered a half breakfast, but it was an abundant breakfast. Each bite was delicious, and the food was so abundant that we both had food left over. Then there was live music and a DJ in the outdoor eating area. I soon learned that we were in the right place at the right time because Saturday, October 4, 2025, was their official grand opening. The music was so great that people dining in the restaurant sang background vocals. I had an opportunity to meet multiple people who shared that it was a multigenerational business, and that made it an extra special experience to support this business. The wisdom of an elder generation combined with the innovation of a younger generation presents possibilities to prosper on purpose. Visiting Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was a beautiful, memorable, refreshing and joyful experience. Thank you to each person who planned and worked to ensure that this business succeeds. “Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. The sandwich was absolutely loaded! I could even eat more than a few fries they packed the Philly so much! And the lemonade was great. Sweet with a little sour at the end. Definitely will be my spot anytime I am in Gary! And very easy to walk to from the truck stop! The quality and quantity especially for the low price is out of this world!”

It's cash only, so be prepared to sanitize/wash hands, but they also have an ATM right there that only costs $1 to use.
