“Very atrentive staff and TASTY beers! Only $8 each which is way better than Chicago prices. They even gave our kids little toy packs with yo-yos and rubber spiders! I recommend the tot-chos (tater toots with nacho toppings over them) and the vanilla porter!
Wife says the Veggie Quesadilla is tasty with a lot of variety of vegetables, and she likes the IPA too. Steppin classss on Thursdays!“

“I typically do not post food reviews on these pages, but my visit to Depot Hot Dogs was exceptional. Last night, I sampled their newest menu item, Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries, which were remarkable. The fries were cooked to perfection, with an ideal balance of ranch and cheese, accompanied by outstanding bacon. I appreciate the family-run aspect of the business. For authentic Chicago flavors, including beef hot dogs and Italian Beefs, Depot Hot Dogs is a recommended destination. They also offer items for dogs. Their support for the Humane Society is commendable, demonstrating consideration for both customers and their pets. While new menu items are available, their exceptional bacon cheese fries stand out. “Came in and the place was completely empty, sign said "seat yourselves" it felt kind of awkward but someone came out to greet us a few seconds later. Staff was super friendly and nice! I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

“When we went apple picking in NW Indiana near Chicago (Oct. '24), we discovered New Oberpfalz Brewing in Griffith, IN. What a great brewery+pub with outdoor and indoor seating to observe Oktoberfest! German cuisine on their menu was very typical of Gasthausen (guest houses) in Bavaria, The variety of their beers, lagers, and ciders created unexpected options to choose from to pair with the menu. The town of Griffith around the brewery has specialty shops to visit and there's a massive Serbian Orthodox Church on the edge of town with striking architecture. We plan to return to explore Griffith and tour New Oberpfalz' brewery.“

“The flavor and toppings selections were great. I got Banana, Vanilla and chocolate yogurt with butterfinger and Reese's with peanut butter drizzle on top. Tasted great!
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the price. Unfortunately $18+ for my bowl didn't seem like a good deal.“
